    I had this new road cut to try to better access the real hilly terrain in the Ozarks, and try to sneak between 2 food plots. Watch as a skilled dozer operator does his magic and creates a new road on some nasty hilly terrain!

    Nice one Joe. I used to push road through the bush for the logging trucks up in the foothills of the Rockies. My main job was running the grapple skidder.

    I have a road similar to this that runs about middle way of my property, the road was built over 40 years back by loggers and it is still in use by us . we call the the turn around at the end of the road "therapy cove" it is totally quiet and peaceful back there.
    the old road requires little maintenance, we bush hog the road twice a year to keep it clear.

    Nice to have those 'toys' to work with. You have some beautiful property here.
    I think there's nothing better than to have tress and hills to work in. That was a great sized dozer for this job,.wide tracks give good flotation ! By the way, what is the width of the finished roadway ?
    Good job 'Kapper' !

      I think that one was 12 feet. Yes it was fun for sure. Just love playing in a 'big boy' sandbox!

      Well you just gave me my laugh and smile for the day, you reminded me that my dear wife used to say to me, after I'd come in for lunch sometimes, " well did you have fun out in your sandbox today ?"

    I'd take all of the big rocks and line them up on the uphill side of anyplace that has heavy runoff from rain. I Did this on my land and laid a double row to fill the gaps between the rocks and it stopped the soil/gravel washout completely.

    Makes me wish the farm area I currently reside had this much woods to explore and play in. Sadly my parents have a small hobby farm and we sold most of our land to get out of debt, we do have some trails for ATVs.
    But hey a guy can always dream can't he. lol

    That road reminded me of a lot of the back roads on Ft Leonard Wood I used to have to march up and down on.

      Yes, that's long gone... Maybe you should buy a property and I'll come do some work with you on it with the Mini..?? :) Weren't you the one that doesn't live that far over in SE MO?

      No I am in Virginia. But I do own property in Wisconsin. Up near Tomah. only 9 acres though. Maybe someday I'll retire and build there, but man it is cold.

    FYI....running that slow while pulling that drag, in high range, us putting unnecessary strain on your drive belt. You should be in low range at low speeds (regardless or weight pulled, etc) just to minimize the strain on the belt. Hate to see you have problems with your toys!!!

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  Před 7 lety

      In this situation you could be right :). But since it was such a light 'drag' against the machine I could barely feel it. But when I drag freshly tilled dirt I'm always in low! Thanks! :)
