A quick discussion and a few clips from bunkai selected in a Dan test & brief explanation as to variants chosen - Gojushiho & Seipai included.
Thanks again Camarillo dojo for hosting the test last week. Since some of you asked about the bunkai & the options I decided on, here is some of the footage with a bit of an after-test explanation - a post that I did for some our shito-ryu guys that asked similar questions. Gojushiho & Seipai bunkai are included. The open hand applications shown in these couple of clips with strikes to the face as part of the set, provide a cross over to some technique I have seen in Okinawa, probable law enforcement and of course the severity of open hand strikes was a characteristic of the famous MMA fighter Bas Rutten over the years.
