As promised, I wanted to give my new to me Vintage Hermès Kelly 28 Sellier Box Calfskin handbag a proper introduction to you all and tell you the story of when, where, and how much I paid for this beauty! I also share details of the bag and points to look out for when looking at preloved listings. Finally I share some resellers that have come highly recommended to me and also a size comparison to other handbags that you may be more familiar with. Yes, it is in Japanese so it can get somewhat tricky to navigate but use translator tools and it’s doable! Happy hunting! 😂😂😂
OMG! I can’t get over how beautiful this bag is. I have been hesitant about box in the past because of the shine but you are making me reconsider since I don’t mind a few scratches and box is one of the leathers that my SA says spas the best. It is rare to get in store though and I’m not yet brave enough to venture into the preowned market. Does Rakuten ichiba have a translation option or are you able to read Japanese? Buying 2 bags was sooo risky but stealth!!!😳 You’re mini restoration job was really good. I love that you took a risk and it paid off big time! 🎉🥳🎊👏🏽
I was always scared of box leather too but I don’t think it’s as scary as everyone thinks. The first video that really changed my mind on it was Mel in Melbournes video with 7rp. And then more recently, Karen Britchick just made me want it even more. Really happy I took the plunge! Rakuten Ichiba used to have a international page in English which is how I got hooked on them, unfortunately they closed that site 2-3 years ago. I am familiar a tiny bit with Japanese and also Chinese characters so it does make it a bit easier for me but I do copy paste to translate and read all the details. Preloved buying is always a risk especially internationally, which is why I recommend reputable ig sellers as they can share all the pictures and info you would need to make an informed decision. Hermes quality is just SO amazing! Your bags are to die for! If I had a store and an SA like yours I don’t think I would need to go preloved! 🥰🥰🥰
Have you heard about love handles? It’s like a suedette handle cover that protects the handle without the look of a twilly. I use them for my bags and it gives me piece of mind

You can buy a strap from Hermes. There are many nice ones with variety of leather and colors and lengths.

Wow I think you set a 2021 record for preloved Hermes deal! Maybe you can do a tutorial for those of us not familiar with rakuten…. Their website is very intimidating for a non Japanese speaker
I do have an advantage in that I am familiar with reading Japanese and also Chinese characters. I usually copy paste to Google translate for items that look interesting which is why it can be time consuming. I’m not sure my methods are enough for a tutorial.😂

I honestly don’t know! But I have to say I always had to pay customs when shipped via FedEx and DHL but when shipped ems/usps was lucky not to get charged. But when I looked at the shipping documents they claimed the exact amount and item description was all correct. I guess I got lucky. 🖤
