- I take a walk through NYC Chinatown during the Holiday Season. Manhattan's Chinatown is the oldest in NYC, and consists of several parts. The area centered around Mott Street & Pell Street is the oldest and was populated by Cantonese speakers, while the area in the eastern part of Chinatown centered around East Broadway was populated by immigrants from the Fujian region of China.

Nom Wah was featured in a prestigious "Time Out Magazine" and now featured on a prestigious video stream.
A 1985 released Hong Kong film titled "The Illegal Immigrant 非法移民" (directed and produced by NYU film school students) was entirely created at locations in Manhattan's Chinatown. If you want to see Chinatown in 1984, the film can be viewed on Dailymotion in two parts with searches 非法移民A and 非法移民B.

Noodle Town , best roast duck/chicken over rice. Only $8.50. Been eating there over 30yrs. Some great Fujianese (or Fukienese) restaurants on the eastside of Chinatown under and near to the Manhattan bridge.

When I lived in China, you would see Christmas decorations anytime of the year. There was no meaning to the decorations except that they looked nice.

I used to go down to Mott Street for dim sum. I was surprised when they didn't understand my Mandarin. It's not good but good enough. I didn't realize that most people there spoke Cantonese.
There is an up and coming Chinatown in Long Island City too.
