    Exactly the kind of information I need to base my purchase on - Honest, first hand, real life experiences, no sales bull, no going through the app demonstrations for 30 minutes - Thanks for posting, this is very good and useful info! Appreciate you.

    Great video!! I have the exact same model and it has been running for 6 weeks. You have just reconfirmed my thoughts on it being a good purchase. 900 hrs on a single set of blades is impressive. I believe it is recommended to change them every 150 hrs although you can rotate and flip them.
    Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

    Excellent video Justin!
    Can't wait to see more follow-up videos on the Luba. We're in a similar position as you - we have around 2.5 main acres around the house we'd like cut, but still have an additional 2 or so acres we'd like the luba to handle as well. Definitely a huge bummer that the acreage limit is capped where it is. We've an 850ft driveway flanked with grass on either side (2ish acres) that we're hoping Luba will be able to tackle, IF it can reach and IF we end up going with Luba. Grateful for videos like yours. 👌🏻

    You could swap the left and right disks to use the same blades one more time! They would turn the other way after being swapped, so they would use the as of now unused side of the blades.

    Someone already told u about changing to perimeter back to charger.
    I think you should clean it more often, it’s so small, takes 10mins to clean and flip the blades, using all 4 sides of the blade.
    I found some blades for a fraction of the cost on Alibaba and the screws fit although I haven’t had to use them yet.
    Also I zip tied a Ring Camera to the onboard camera cos the Ring is connected to all cameras around the house, so when on is triggered they all record that moment.
    Plus the Ring Camera has an alarm “added security”
    I totally understand TIME VS MONEY but these mowers are extremely overpriced.
    These things can only be bought by ppl who really need them.
    Outside of the developed world no one can afford them and only an extremely low percentage of ppl can afford them in the developed world, so I guess they want to profit only of a few ppl…
    2 tiny motors, a gps and a motherboard for 3K with extremely limited service and have to BEG my brother or neighbors to go save my robot while I’m at work.
    Finally, mine struggles to find the charging station for some reason after the unnecessary updates, just goes round in circles then shuts off…
    Great video and summary of your experience, thx 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸

    Excellent video, love the detail and the production value. Sounds like mammotion has many improvements to make for Luba 3. The hardware seems pretty robust overall, aside from a few tweaks. Some of the software/firmware issues are pretty unacceptable however. You may want to check out the Sunseeker X7 if you decide to buy a new mower, it's pretty similar to the Luba.

    Be interesting to see what the issue is if/when you hash it out with support. I ended up going with a 4G sim from Tello for mine, mostly because I'm paranoid of it being stollen. Only 1 acre here, so it doesn't get that far out. Figured while I was at it I'd do an outside wifi mesh point too.
    Posted anything on the official Mammotion Reddit?

    If the date of your video release is correct as August, you should have the software upgrade that allows the Luba to return to the charger via the area boundary. :)

  • @jimwildasin4464
    @jimwildasin4464 Před 21 dnem +2

    Do you have to use a SIM card, and if so, what's that price ??
    Does the RTF unit have to stay powered once you set it up, if its unpowered do you need to reprogram the mowing area ?

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler  Před 21 dnem +1

      @@jimwildasin4464 a SIM card is not necessary, so I’m unsure of the cost. They aren’t very expensive, but do have a monthly fee. I haven’t needed to use one though. It could be useful though in areas with poor wifi signal. Yes, the RTK has to stay powered on at all times, regardless of WiFi or cell connectivity. You don’t have to reprogram after a power loss to the RTK, but the RTK needs power during the mowing process.

    I got some replacement blades from amazon they are black and made for the luba and came with screws. Also couldn't you set the luba to follow perimeter vs direct route to avoid the rut in the lines?

    • @MrJustinWheeler

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler  Před 10 dny

      @@kblend7225 they each have their pros and cons. I’d say the Luba doesn’t have the overall reliability and quality that a $10k zero turn has. However, the Luba certainly makes a nicer pattern and keeps me doing more important tasks. For what it’s worth, I’ll probably sell my ZT and buy another Luba for my pasture next season.
