Genshin just keeps getting better! Hu Tao is a wonderful character and honestly, this was one of the most fun story quests yet.

I really liked playing as her in her story quest.
Most of the story quests/hangouts for female characters turn into “a date with traveler” kinda thing. That’s why Hu Tao’s is one that I really really like. The others aren’t bad per se. I just enjoyed how free-spirited, intelligent and independent she is despite others calling her creepy or weird.
Which story quests/hangouts would you say end up like that? Not trying to argue ofc I’m just curious because I hear lots of people say that but I can genuinely only think of like 2 or 3 examples (eg ayaka)- although to be fair I haven’t finished most the hangouts and I play as Lumine, so I might be more biased to view it as a friendship (and yeah this story quest is great! It’s sad I had to skip her)
I must agree, most of the stoey quest are fxking date simulators and theirs the waifu simps who make some thesis about how it's not symbolically. The ones I found interesting are Hu Tao, Eula, Yoimiya and Kokomi. The rest are just dates, except for Klee since she is a child and it make sense for her character

The writing for Hu Tao is incredible and quite clever, I like how she seems to be kinda crazy in a way but in the end she is just a joker and is above everyone else. She is just a misunderstood girl.

I still prefer the JP VA more. A bit more playful sounding while her EN VA tends to slightly over do the accentuated creepy voice.

Rie Takahashi is a fantastic voice actress, Megumin and Emilia are so iconic and Hu Tao fits right in there.

You know, this whole 'Big G' quest reminds me of a lovely anime released in 2011 called 'Anohana - The Flower We Saw That Day'. It's the story of a group of characters who survived the death of a childhood friend but grew distant from each other. It's really heartwarming and it will make you cry. A lot.
After watching it, you'll never be able to listen to the opening nor ending the same way either. :(
I also remembered Anohana while playing this quest! So sad, both the anime and the quest Ç_Ç

I found Hu Tao very interesting. Apparently she is being memed to high heaven. But I would say it makes sense, but overall she values the cycle of life and death and takes her responsibilities very seriously. I kinda admire that.
She even opposed Baizhu's idea of pursuit of eternal life. One thing about Qiqi is that she thought she is a tormented soul who tried..."putting her to rest" but her disposition changed when she saw Qiqi doesnt want to die. She decides to spoil Qiqi but in the end the damage is done, Qiqi avoids her like a plaque.

Fun fact about Hu Tao's final lines, about how no other director of Wangsheng has ever been seen lingering at the border.
One of the previous Directors was actually her grandfather. His final dying wish was that Hu Tao perform his funeral rites herself. Hu Tao was 13 years old at the time.
After performing his funeral rites, she immediately headed to the border to try and find his ghost. She spent days searching and searching, never finding him. She looked for her grandfather for so long that she almost died of exhaustion and a lack of water.
Finally, at death's door herself, did she realise what not being able to find her grandfather meant. He had no regrets and happily passed over to the other side. Satisfied, Hu Tao finally left the border and returned to the land of the living.
I suppose that Hu Tao's unique views on life and death are due to her own experiences, and her wanting everyone to have a smooth journey to the afterlife like her beloved grandfather.
I bet one of the most crucial reason why Zhongli decided to work at the funeral parlor was Hu Tao and her disarmingly different personality
Hu Tao is the very first character I prefarmed for everything; Boss and talent mats, artifacts, as well as weapon mats (Deathmatch at that time). I enjoy everything about her ❤️ Her big damage is just a bonus

Hu Tao is such a great character, I’m so happy that I was able to get her a couple months ago. She’s also my hardest-hitting DPS which is amazing!
If you think about it, why Zhongli even choose to be apart with the Funeral Parlor. Just think of how his only job is to bury those once friends to foes.
The voice actor for Luocheng in 25:10 sounds lowkey like the Lemon Guy in Adventure Time but more mellowed out.

This quest hits different. I love Paimon responses to Hu Tao than ever, usually Paimon is so annoying. Hu Tao gives good giggles and some dark jokes, yet the ending is touching ❤️
From what little I know of this, aka from my friends, funeral services aren't cheap, so most people in their maybe early or late 50s would have some sort of funeral service already paid for, so that when they pass on, their children or other family members wouldn't have to bear a sudden cost or be stressed about arranging the funeral and be able to grieve in peace.

Other than the lovely personality, this quest also pays some nice homage to the plot of Anohana
True! I saw Anohana after playing this quest, and it immediately clicked
The way I saw this story was Hutto was only trying to help people go ahead and buy the plot and coffin so that way they aren't in a hurry at the last minute preparation when something happens which many people struggle with when something unexpected happens, best be prepared
This is the quest that made me really want to get her. At first, I do not want her at all. But after doing her quest, I really waited for her (luckily she had a re-rerun just right up).
I like how her story quest has a very unique touch, even the domain is very unique, really liked how strong she appears and the subtle sadness you can somehow feel from her cheery voice. And most of all! I ADORE HER DASH ANIMATION.

FUN FACT : in WuWang Hill there use to live a village but one night some says they heard music and voices that bring the people of the village to the edge of the cliff and to their death ALMOST all the villagers died.

HuTao and Morax are my favorite characters in the game... well HuTao is more and obsession xD y farm for 2 month before she came in the banner, so yeah... obsession jhahjjhaja. So imagine how i feel in the las cinematic of liyue fire festival, when Morax and HuTao appear together... i literally cry a little for joy C: (well... that and the all cinematic is beautiful n.n all character of Liyue story in one video... even those are gone Azdaha's tomb, and other gods), besides, in one part appears the "semi humans", like Yanfei/Ganyu, and Shenhe, a human but not that "human" jaja, it was a wonder video... in which you just need yo sit and enjoy
Hu tao is my second team main, she is very fun to play. I don't have her spear but I use the catch as a substitute. Her eye is mesmerizing. I'm lucky to get her within 10ish pull after albedo. She is very cute and very cute when she smirk in the trailer. Happy Chinese new year to you bran.

Since she talks a bit about what Wangsheng Funeral Parlor did during the Archon War, I wonder if she's somehow aware of Zhongli... or I wonder why of all places Zhongli would work, he picked this.
Hu Tao is by far one of the most interesting Story Quests second only to Raiden for me. But also I play in the JP voices so for me so all I hear in my head is Megumin speaking. XD

Favorite character quest in Genshin, hands down
Just so you know, bran, there is a way to automatically have the story play without having to press the play button. It is all in the settings and it will definitely help when trying to play the story smoothly. :) By the way, hu tao is extremely fun to play. Hopes you get her and if not, then that is a huge pity...

This quest was so good i can't hold my sadness to it. Its because of promises that can never be fulfilled ever... My tears are going up, down, up, down because of ocassional Hutao jokes
My sibling forced me to pull on Hu Tao's OG banner and I got her in 20 pulls, still wasn't sold on her. But after playing through her quest I changed my mind: I absolutely adore her! Agree with her thoughts regarding death and dying, although Hu Tao sorta...takes her ideas to the extreme.
