  • Hi guys,
    Today I’m sharing with you my Intermittent Fasting success. I’ve been IF for over 2 years now and it has been the best thing I’ve ever discovered since having my total-thyroidectomy.
    There isn’t a lot of information out there of people who have had a total-thyroidectomy or are Hypothyroid and doing Intermittent fasting.
    I still think Intermittent Fasting is relatively ‘NEWish” territory, especially when it comes to how it affects us Thyroid people. I share with you the challenges I faced as well as the success I’ve had and how I made it work for my Hypothyroid condition.
    Here are some links that I think are some links which you may find useful:

His "How Tos" Intermittent fasting videos are the best. His channel is a great resource of health information in general!

    I'm so happy in your success with fasting I was diagnosed with graves disease 4 years ago and, that was horrible then, my thyroid burned out now I now have hypothyroidism I'm on synthroyd I was 150 now 220 lbs so I have a lot of weight to lose I'm doing the 23hr omad fasting I've done fasting in the past so I know what to expect but only now I'm 50 years old and has an interactive thyroid, and going through menopause so it's gonna be a hell of an experience. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    Thank you for this video! I just started because I have a neurological conditional and I need to lose weight. I just love how the doctors say lose weight! But it's so difficult. I have been fasting for a month and I feel amazing but have only lost 6 lbs. I am getting blood work done this week to see how my levels are and to see if my medications have to be modified. In regards to hunger, honestly, I barely struggled. But I barely eat as it is. I think I was hungry just the first 2 days and that's it. I hope to loose all the weight to better my overall health. I am young and I am tired of being tired and sick... Thank you for this. I am subbing for more advice and motivation

    Can I do intermittent fasting while taking Synthroid in the morning upon waking?

    • @everydaythyroidwithlena8373
      @everydaythyroidwithlena8373  Před 4 lety

      jessicasierra sure that’s what I do. The hardest adjustment I had to learn was the fact that you cannot eat first thing in the morning with synthroid. You have to wait at least 1hr. It especially doesn’t like dairy. I used to have my coffee the second I got out of bed! But you can’t do that anymore - whether you do intermittent fasting or not. They say if you can wait 2 hrs after taking Synthroid- but I find that too long to wait. It’s an adjustment but you can do it! 😘
      For me intermittent fasting has done wonders for my thyroid - see how you go. Remember to look up the contraindications of Synthroid - it will tell you on your medication info leaflet that you should avoid things like - soy protein power, some fruits like strawberries, calcium, iron supplements, some medications are different than others but just check them out.

      Do you have an electrolytes drink mix? Get a mix that is sweetened with stevia and drink that. It should help your symptoms with the intermittent fasting.
