Merle Haggard - Where No One Stands Alone

- Once I stood in the night with my head bowed low
In darkness as black as the sea
In my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord
Don't hide your face from me.
Hold my hand all the way every hour every day
From here to the great unknown
Take my hand let me stand
Where no one stands alone.
Like a king I may live in a palace so fine
With great riches to call my own
But I don't know a thing in this whole wide world
That's worse than being alone.
Hold my hand all the way every hour every day
From here to the great unknown
Take my hand let me stand
Where no one stands alone...
Merle Ronald Haggard
(April 6, 1937 - April 6, 2016) R.I.P - Hudba
Lord, I sure loved Merle Haggard's voice. Sorry I was never able to see him in concert. One of the greats. A great legend lost and there will never be anyone who can fill his shoes. Love you Merle!
The ultimate mighty Merle Haggard
Merle does such a great rendition of this song. It's so true that if we have Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are never alone (according to His promise).
THE most underrated and under appreciated U.S. songwriter. What an incredibly beautiful song. I grew up on the California coast, blessed enough to be exposed to a wide variety of people and music, but there are few human beings of any culture, walk or stature that have ever walked this earth that express such human soul, love, heartache, hope, challenge, overcoming and faith as the one and only Merle Haggard. An American hero and treasure. Surely he's where no one stands alone and singing with a choir of angels!
This beautiful song was written by Mosie Lister.
I loved Merle, greatest singer, I grew up listen to his magnificent music. God gave Merle a great talent, a great gift. But you know when Merle sang, he sang from his heart. If you can do that, you let the listener, feel the song. But even remarkable, his sons share the same talent. I admired his wife, the video, where he showed the house he grew up in. Bless her heart, she couldn't keep her hands off of Merle, she loved Him so much. Anyway,God Bless his family, thanks for sharing him with all of us.
Merle what a fabulously talented man. I am sure he must be in the choir of Heaven singing for our Lord Jesus!!
Not yet,he shall be in the Ressurection morning according to The Bible,he's still in the graves
I get goosebumps everytime I listen to Merle sing this song. So great.
I got saved at Neptune Baptist Church in Neptune Beach (Jacksonville) Florida in April or May of 1981. Songs For The Mama That Tried was the very first album I bought and I cried like a baby listening to these songs for weeks and weeks after my salvation experience. Thank you Merle Haggard. God bless you, sir !!!
I will pray for you, John. Love from London Uk 🇬🇧.
This is the second time that I happened upon your comment. Imagine my surprise when I read the reply to your comment and saw it was me who wrote the reply. I have prayed for you again, Jon. All the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ Who is God and His Holy Ghost.
Amen brother!
Merle, I love this song! I am in nursing home, in my own room. But I am never alone. Jesus is right beside me. I thank my Lord for giving me One day at a time sweet Jesus, and where no one stands alone. 🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💒
Amen
In 2003, He was with me through two brain
tumor surgeries,
ICU/MICU and weeks in skilled nursing as they tried to
stabilize me and they provide rehab. There had been damage during the surgery leaving me unable to walk
In it all He was there
I was told in 2003 I had 9 years
In Sept I will celebrate 19 years. He has kept me all this time
You are never alone Barbara!
I’m a Viet Nam vet, I’ve been a huge fan ever since. To me, he’s the best of all time
You hang in there. Brain tumor survivor as well.
Man, he can sure sing it!!!

Merle and Elvis both bring me out in goosebumps when I listen to them singing this beautiful song, and Long Black Limousine. My throat catches, and I almost tear up.
YES!!! First time I heard Elvis sing this song I busted out crying! Went straight to my soul!
Merle has always been my favorite country musician. LOVE ❤
I was first introduced to the song "WHERE NO ONE STANDS ALONE" in a church of Christ church in West Tennessee, the song leader named Tony T. Could make the rafters wiggle when he sang it. But I've heard many people sing it, but Merle haggard comes the closest to Tony, than anything. So when I die and this song is sang at my funeral I'm going to have it in my WILL that Merle Haggard's rendition be sang. RIP MERLE AND IF YOU CAN HEAR ME TY
