      Oh gosh thank you, I felt it was one of my worst 🤣. I genuinely use it all the time for bacon, burgers, chicken and chops, toasted sandwiches, but for steak I don’t like it, I have gone back to the frying pan. Glad you enjoyed and I will definitely do more videos on it.

    Putting the tomatoes on there messes with the thickness sensor for the steaks and gives under cooked results. If the tomatoes are less thick than the item you are grilling you can add them. But this causes the difference between the left 3 steaks and the 4th one...

    Based on this video, I took a punt and went for the Optigrill Elite instead. preheated, 2 frozen burgers put in with frozen setting, deliberately didn't press down so that the thickness calculator worked asl well as good be, set to well done as per guidance. Absolutely perfectly cooked and piping hot. Gonna try the same again in a second, but with searing *plus* frozen to see the difference. I normally way overcook to be safe in the past, turns out, I really didn't need to, and not overcooking to the extent I used to do, is healthier.

    @toriasummers2670 Před rokem +1

    Helpful video, thanks. Can I just say that when you’re cooking steak or chicken etc.., no matter how you like it (you said you like steak well done), you should cook it to slightly under what you want and let it rest for a little bit - this will allow it to continue ‘cooking’ but will also let the meat (or chicken) relax a little which produces a much more tender result regardless of how well it’s cooked. Thanks for the video, I do appreciate this.

    • @HooverLux

You might find it helpful to jot down on a cheat sheet, what you cooked and how long it took, so you don't have to guess each time, till you have done it a lot. You should have drained the marinade before putting the meat on the grill. With all that marinade that you poured over the steakes it boiled the meat a little bit. It’s great for bacon, toasted sandwiches, etc, but I find steak just has to be cooked in a hot pan or griddle, I messed up with this and it made me look like I can’t cook for beans😱, but it just doesn’t sear the meat.

    The steaks looked boiled I’ve been cooking steaks professionally for 40 years and you need a hotter grill or us a griddle pan and get it really hot and sear your meat I was going to buy this grill but honestly I’ve just taken possession of a new Samsung electric oven and ceramic top which will do a bang up job and oh yes DONT put cooked meat on a red board you peasant if you want the fat crispy use a pan and sear in really hot oil if you cooked that in my kitchen you would be looking for an alternative career

    I'm sorry, I had to vote this video with a thumbs down. I'm sure you've had others comment on it since 2019 - but you really should read and understand the instructions BEFORE recording a demo video. You did the Tefal OptiGrill a complete dis-service. You kept pressing down the lid - something you should not do - the device measures the thickness of the food and adjusts the cook time accordingly. If you keep pressing on the lid it will think the food is thinner than it actually is and thus under cook. Given you used this over a period of days to make this video, it was clear from your 2nd and 3rd "demos" that you still hadn't read the instructions for use. Shame and will give many viewers the wrong impression. I could go on but I'll stop there. I hope you've now read the instructions and are using it properly..... My comments are left as a long term user of the OptiGrill.

      I admit at first I was using it more as other cheaper more basic grills id had in the past, I was trying to sear the meat by pushing down as I had in the past. Im still not a fan of using it for steak and have gone back to BBQ or pan cook steaks for a more seared steak, but I do use it even now for bacon, sausages and so many other things and it is amazing. My reviews are the ones that the majority of people would use it that have never used one before, I always see reviews my chefs or people who have used one, this is a true first timer use review. I will have a update video coming up soon.

      Omg I know , that vid was a disaster, but! I learnt from it as many end users would and I do cook a lot on it, just not steak, I need my cast iron pan searing hot so can cook it medium, seared on the outside and juicy in, this Tefal just can’t do that. I thought by pressing down I’d sear it, but just not got enough

      @HooverLux Restorations Yeah' I can understand that, the way you like your stake. But for medium or rose it works perfectly when the stake is sliced thick enough. Burgers, chicken and all of that works great too. You need to keep experimenting with it to know how and what cut of meat works best with the programs for that type of meat. Thanks for the review it made my buy the thing and I'm happy with it! ✌🏾👍🏾
