Thats trailer does load that truck pretty well at highway speeds. My experience is, switching to tow mode shifts your transmission out of and blocks the overdrive final gearing. Your should be able to observe a higher RPM for the same MPH when running in tow mode.
Oh I see you got the rain I sent you 😂I got to say the Titan seems like a smooth ride. Not bad gas mileage at all especially with the trailer on it. I'm glad you like the truck and you definitely made a good investment buddy.
Not sure if I missed it, but what octane are you running? I believe Nissan says you can run 87 or 91? Depending on what you run gets you a different hp and torque. Thanks!
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 Thanks! Running on 87 with a naturally aspirated engine, those are decent results. Similar to what my 06 hemi would get. Thanks again!
I have a 21’ titan SV I use only 81 octane and get about 23 highway about 16-17 in town. I haven’t done extensive towing yet. The one time I pulled my boat I got 13
81 Octane 😯🤣. That is about what mine gets. Probably 13-14 towing the boat and maybe 11 with the lawn trailer. Lawn trailer is significantly heavier than the boat.
If your not in hills you don’t need tow mode. Use to get on high way if on ramp is up hill and the turn off, for normal highway a normal grades it’s not needed and sacrifices towing MPG.
I like seeing #'s like this 👍my 2012 f150 v6 2x2 averages about 21mpg's and it drops down to 13mpg pulling our mowing rig. Our 2022 f350 big block v8 4x4 gets 15mpg and drops down to 10mpg's when pulling the trailer. I'm hoping to get 12mpg once I go with a trailerless setup 🙏
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 very tall truck and only 5 speed trans. I want a 2024 new next year but with inflation I don't know quite how that will come to pass
It is not the XD. I was looking at a couple of used ones with less than 30k miles and honestly, no XD showed up in my area. In fact, the only two that I saw that I was interested in were 80-200 miles from me.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 I can’t decide between the XD and a Ford F250XL. Both are close to the same price. Ford payload and towing much better but mpg a lot less. XD can tow 11k with gooseneck but does a few thousand lbs more
something must be very wrong with your truck then. i had over 2000lbs on my truck bed and other then slight sagging, it handled very well no problem. also, i tow over 6000lbs RV and it does it with no problem...gas mileage being at around 10mpg. Towing a 1500lb trailer should be a breeze...something doesn't seem right.

Oh yeah, it definitely blocks off the top gear, maybe even 2. I haven't driven it enough yet to have the rpms dialed in.

Yes sir, we got the rain, but I think it is gone now. It is a smooth riding truck and gas mileage is as good as the Frontier, so I can't complain.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 I got a lot of rain yesterday. I can feel every bump in mine 😂Lets just hope that the gas doesn't go back up.
I definitely hope we don't have anymore 4 dollar a gallon gas.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 Oh I know at one time it was very close to $5 a gallon.

400 HP is a beast . Love my 2020 but drive it like a grandma .
I drive mine like a bank robber 😂

It seems to shift through all the gears in tow mode, but perhaps takes a little longer. Tow mode does help with slowing down though. Thanks

It seems like dumping the trailer would get you up to 12.......I guess time will tell.......I'm just glad it isn't 4.00 a gallon right now.....
Great stuff
Thanks. Loving the Titan so far!
Background looks like Mississippi while you're driving.
Ha ha, no it's Georgia. Hadn't taken this truck to Mississippi yet.
What year was the titan?
I presume a 2020 and later worh the 9 speed transmission? Or was it an earlier model with the 5 or 7 speed?
Yes, it is a 2021......The old ones were gas hogs as I understand it.....
Wish they had better fuel economy. Are they discounting the Titan line up?
It wasn't discounted when I bought it but it was cheaper than the F150. Fuel mileage without towing is pretty good.
My 2006 Titan gets 8-11 mpg towing in hill country. 12-16mpg w/o trailer
Yeah those older ones didn't do quite as well on hwy mileage

I want a 250 with the 6.7 but the price on those is still crazy. Just looked at a XLT with 70k miles listed for 52k
I can’t get 400 miles on my 22 mostly 13-14 mpg towing an empty 1500 lb trailer I got 7.5 I’m disappointed with towing it struggles
