I have a Collings 01 Mh, all hog. These guitars were built originally for a reason:: reduction of long-term hand and body fatigue for the everyday player. The most fatguing guitar to play is a dreadnought, yet everyone wants one.

After owning dozens of high end instruments over the years I finally, about 4-5 years ago, settled on a Collings Parlor with Sitka and Rosewood and a like made Collings 02h. I also enjoy my National Gold Deuco, 12 fretted. Both of the Collings are wonderful and I added a passive pickup to the O2h but I seldom use it. The Parlor is a cannon and it is my go-to instrument nearly every time.

Oooo I think the Rosewood might be my favorite there. The low resonant tones are beautiful

I love the "hi, you have arrived at the wrong video, don't shop for this kind of guitar" intro.

Those sound great. Gorgeous guitars. Perfect size for solo playing.

Great video and superb sounding guitars, truly a cut above and very loud for their size. Also perfect for finger style playing which I prefer on acoustic. I like to feel the strings with both hands and feel more connected and in control of the instrument. Excellent playing by Jesse allowing us to hear the differences in the models. Very cool!

Man, that mahogany with burst finish is just so round and warm in tone. Just pure bliss. Thanks for not flatpicking it. Also, its awesome how you just made jokes of the construction and people making noises in the background. lol

I would love to own a Collings Parlor Guitar. Bill Collings was an amazing builder (GOD rest his Soul) and his company has continued to produce the world class instruments . Thank you so much for your great review. The Rosewood was my choice but I also love the mahogany too. Wait, the Koa just took it for me. I have a Martin Koa 000 and just love it.

The neck looks like it is gloss. I've heard many people have trouble going up and down a gloss neck. Hand tends to stick. Surprised Collings didn't go with a satin neck.

Nice demo, three lovely guitars, but it's getting old, describing parlour size as being for travel or couch. People like these smaller boxes for their own reasons.

Rosewood just sounds so wet and loose, im not a fan. I prefer the mahogany tightness.

  • @newtondelmar4416

I really don't like when people try to pigeon-hole instruments into super specific boxes...
A player should first and foremost pick a guitar that feels right and that they have a connection with...THEN...they should make the music that they love...
To have a salesperson tell a customer that "this guitar is for finger-picking & that one is for strumming & that one is for..." drives me batty...
Please just let musicians find their own guitars and then let them make music magic :)
    OK...just my 2 cents :)

No. Completely different type of guitar. The Taylor is a baby. A parlor guitar is not a baby.

@@ArtisanGuitars Thank you for making this Collings parlor comparison video. I really enjoyed it, and of course, hearing the sound of each tonewood species. I hope to try one of the lil fellas someday. I have a German spruce OM1 that I really dig. I wonder if y’all have made any Collings model comparisons ( SJ, dread, OM, and parlor)? I’ll have to check the Artisan video playlist! Keep up the good work. ✌️
