This guide does go hand in hand with the Odin Pro as well, I have been testing multiple builds for 2 weeks with 15 different games. A dozen play really great some have minor issues, but what I share in this guide is a the bases of what you will setup for your games to run really well from the start to gaining some knowledge about what you should do with certain smaller tweaks to get your games to run!
I never owned a Gamecube as a kid many moons ago and this was one of the consoles I really wanted to get working. I still own a Wii why I mention this is because Dolphin does play Wii but not so great on Android for most popular games at least!

I recently ordered a Retroid Pocket 3 plus a week ago and I’m watching some setup and tutorial videos to help me visualize of what I should do once I receive it and your videos as well as retro game corps have been very helpful and I am very grateful! This is my very first retro emulator handheld device ever so i am beyond excited

Thank you bud, I'd been wrestling with Dolphin trying to get Pokémon Coliseum to run in a playable state to no avail, the simple 'get this version of Dolphin here' helped a tonne! After a few tweaks I've now got it running fairly smooth with only minor drops here and there. Appreciate the easy to follow and thorough guide!
Glad I could help glad you got your game up and running I'm always testing later builds of Dolphin and this one is still the best imo. Idk what they did to the latest Nightly build but it seems to cause issues so you're in luck!

Gotta thank you for this video. Most videos on this are older and recommend MMJR or another fork. If it wasn't for this video, I wouldn't have thought that the vanilla Dolphin emulator had surpassed those forks in performance on this device.
You're welcome, the only game I found that benefits from MMJR is Mario Kart, the later stages show down with the mainline build of dolphin for whatever reason. How about that Pocket 4 though did you see the sneak peak?
@DNAMobileGaming I just basically responded to this on your RP4 video a bit ago.
I already had an Anbernic RG405M before I got the RP3+, and I wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't have found a listing on FB Marketplace for the console and a bunch of extras for $100, because the person got frustrated with the setup.
If I somehow find a similarly great deal on the RP4 Pro at some point in the future, then I'll definitely pick it up. Otherwise, I will probably skip it.

Glad I could help! I tested MMJ vs this latest build and don't know why some others keep suggesting MMJ/MMJR since it's not being developed anymore, and the performance/UI isn't amazing.

Just got my RP4 Pro, could not get rid of the overlays - had the gesture switched off for the 3 dot interface.

I played the Mushroom levels way to much the last two weeks while testing and researching the source code of Dolphin that I don't want to look at Mario Kart for a while 🤣

The generic settings for the emulator work well for most games that are compatible with the Retroid 3+.
Everything worked for me except for the controller part, doesn't work at all

I'm getting an error with dolphin, it shows a message after I choose 50Hz saying that there's an invalid read, any ideas why?

Eh awesome, only thing I can say is backup your user data first then clear the cache and reload your games. I'm not sure why that would occur never experienced anything weird like that.

My Gamecube controller 1 always defaults back to "Disabled" any idea why? cant control any games.
Do you have any Bluetooth devices connected I've never experienced this.

Hello every I am having this issue with my RP3 plus the A and B are link together in the key test when I press the A or B it register as both being press. Any way to fix this issue??
The game boot up on dolphin itself but it does not recognize my controller inputs :/ anyone know how to tell the emulator to use my controler and not the adapter?

Everything worked correct except the joystick is stuck moving right the whole time. I checked the mapping and even redid it and it’s still happening.
Clear the bind for the joystick and set it again you probably have it double set to a bind.

Yo, i got a RP3+ months ago but hit a wall when starting the actual ROM, Core, Device configurations. This has been a huge help but I still need more practice when configuring the device to play gamecube properly from scratch - Is your discord a good place for Newbies?
Hey what do you mean, like you need help with setting up Daijisho or a front end to load the games? Honestly with the Retroid there's no straight forward method because some games need minor tweaking to work with the Retroid processor. I do have a Discord as well I try to check it a few times a day.

I didn't do a Wii setup because I have a rule. If I can't play a handful of titles on a device I'm not going to share a guide about it 😕. I do vigorous testing to make sure you can play games not just for the first 5 minutes like a lot do before sharing guides. Mind you I don't test every platform mostly just the heavily demanding ones. Also I own my Wii so the games I have are my own copies.
Hello good Morning, I have not achieved full screen even with mmjr, mmjr2... I hope that with the new version of Dolphin I can. Resindet Evil in 16:9 I have to expand the display to 170% to fullscreen I don't understand . Any recommendation? Is there a difference from the Pal version? thank you so much!
Hey Resident Evil I didn't have to change anything different from what I shared in this guide. I only checked out RE 2 however but I have it set to 16:9 and it looks great, if you follow this guide you'll get to play it at decent performance as well. Some in the community have confirmed long gameplay as well.
How do you underclock games in dolphin emulator? I'm trying to get the gamecube version of simpson's hit and run and the spreadsheet says this about the settings for the game: "Haven't had any problems running this game underclocked at 60% Clock Speed outside of the opening cutscene not working and maybe minor dips when crashing your car." How do I underclock at 60% clock speed in the dolphin version in this video? The spreadsheet uses dolphin mjjr but idk if that makes a difference.

how do i change to disc 2 for metal gear/ resident evil etc ?
When you're at the point to swap to disc 2 open the left menu by pressing back, and there's an option to change disc.
Honestly, I'm just waiting for the 4 pro. Dolphin for handheld which is what the RP 3+ came with and it's complete trash. Mmjr haven't been updated in forever and are dead projects. I also refuse to use pal over ntsc, loll.
Castlevania adventures rebirth runs pretty okay with dolphin proper though 😆
Hopefully the 4 will run smoothly for the emulators like Dolphin.
@@DNAMobileGaming with a dimensity 1100 it should for majority of the games. Not easy to find emulaton videos with devices with that chipset in English, loll. The Poco X3 GT has the d1100 so everything should run the same, maybe better. I think the RP4P has more RAM.

I have the one that came on it factory dolphin 5.0-16009.....dolphin 5.0-19870 won't install.. following your settings it still runs double dash thou.😊

@devthings restart your Retroid after removing the old version. Idk why but Retroids Android is buggy I found when you restart it after removing an application it works.
My memory card isnt showing up just the retroid memory, its a samsung one
Did you try formatting it with you computer at all? Also make sure it's fully seated and pressed in I know the SD Card slot is annoying sometimes. If that doesn't work and it is seated properly restart your Retroid to see if it appears. There should be a notification at the top that says setup your memory card.

Of course you can, if you want to delete the zipped folder after you've unzipped it that's up to you really. Saves space in my opinion so it's a preference.

It’s says the dolphin emulator can harm my device what do I do?
That's a common warning and up to you weather you download it or not. It's just Google trying to cover their butt and warn you if you download apps or games not on the Google Play Store it's not their fault if something happens. I've been an Android owner/developer for over a decade and never experienced an app or game that has harmed my phone lol.
