EMILY Green, 22, was born with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome, which means she was born without a fully formed vagina. She explained to Truly: “One in five thousand women are born with it, it means I was born without a uterus and a fully formed vagina. I’ve got both ovaries, which hopefully are healthy, but I won’t be able to find that out for a few years yet.” Her mental health was also negatively affected by the diagnosis: “I was just humiliated and embarrassed by it.” Adding that: “I didn’t want people to judge me, I didn’t feel like a woman.” She was diagnosed at 16 years old and started on the treatment of dilation, but medical staff realised after a year that it wasn’t working as well as they’d hoped. So Emily decided to undergo surgery, which she described as “excruciating and really horrible.” Emily regularly blogs about her experience and has now found acceptance with other members of the MRKH community, where she can discuss the impact of the condition. “It's part of who I am, it is my story, I don't want to pretend that it’s not me, it is me.”

And thank you for your kind words, dear Emily. I am pushing 70 and I have Slavic ancestry. Allow me to relate a story to you that I was told decades ago....In Russia, a person who had some type of infirmity, crippled or in a wheelchair, a poor, homeless beggar who couldn't work because they were paralyzed, or blind, etc.were called "The Blessed”, and people would go up to these people with cupped hands and ask for their blessing because through them and their infirmity God's work is being done, allowing the compassion and kindness of others to be shown....We don't know what God's plan is for any of us, and something that can seem like a bad thing can, in fact, be a wonderful blessing, so we should thank God for all things, even if we don't understand His Will for us. I'm sure that Got is very pleased with you for accepting His Will and having the courage and openness to be you. Maybe you have seen the man who was born without limbs and his phenomenal strength and courage preaching online. You see, Emily, you and he are the type of people who can change the world by showing others the faith you have in God's Will. God bless you, dear one. I will remember you in my prayers. 🙏♥️🌹

I can relate to the above. I grew up in a society where MRKH is virtually unknown and a woman is expected to be a breeding machine. My inability to have menses was attributed to witchcraft and this meant going from one witch doctor to another. I was psychologically affected and lost all the confidence as a woman. I had no support even from my parents and my life’s experiences made me to be the strong woman l am today. I’m 49 years , got married, divorced and only learned about 3 years ago that l was just one in 5000 woman when l moved to the USA. For the first time in my life, l felt like a real person as there is no discrimination for the barren woman and there are support groups for women with my condition

She is one of the most beautiful down to earth womans I have seen today. My heart hurts for her, women in general have seriously got the toughest lot in life. I have grown and matured so much since being with my girlfriend. She has opened me up to a whole world of taking people as they are and showing me that my insecurities shouldn't hamper my opinions of others.
We all have our trials. Best not to compare.
Modern women in the west actually have it easier than men, which is why young men in particular are checking out at a massively alarming rate:
-Affirmative action
-no fault divorce were they can clean out a man (women initiate close to 80% of all divorces)
-not held to any real standards like their grandmothers were (sleeping around, tattoos, bringing b@stard children into the world, etc.)
-giant government programs, many of whom women use extensively. Allows women to toss men in the trash and not cooperate
-men die far more in war, more violence happens to men, men live shorter lives, most hard manual labor jobs are performed by men, most dangerous jobs are performed by men, men have massively higher instances of homelessness
I could go on and on and on, but a good saying is, modern women want the authority of a man with the accountability of a child.
@@bannedbycommieyoutube5time920 cope harder ❄️

Emily is a wonderful person. She radiates such warmth. P.S. Growing up, I also felt like less of a woman because I have Turner Syndrome. I'm short, my ovaries don't work, my thyroid's messed up... And every day the only thought in my head is being afraid of running out of my hormonal pills, or not being able to get them and "reverting" to the body of a child and then getting menopause symptoms on top of that. My condition took the joy out of my life.
Thank you 🥺 so sorry for what you’ve been through and are still going through. You are amazing and I’m so proud of you - keep your head up and I’m here if you want to talk
@@emilygreen4686 Wow, was not expecting a reply. Thank you! And thank you for the kind words, Emily! I would not mind sharing more of my story with you.
You are not only beautiful, but apparently very brave and inspiring. We are all born unique, some, like you Emily a little stronger than others.
I have been an OB/GYN nurse for 4 years and have never, personally met someone with this diagnosis. I am very impressed with this young lady’s maturity and fortitude and openness. Ty for sharing, I know it had to have been difficult to have done so
This is one reason I want to bring awareness! As well as educating the general public, women with MRKH have a lot of struggles within the medical community too
As an obgyn could someone donate a womb to her as she has fallopian tubes? Then she could have the chance of becoming pregnant and carrying her own children? With the advances in medicine just wondering if this would be an option? I know she's young and isn't thinking of children yet but the day will come when she will want to explore that option. I've had 4 children (and one miscarriage 😥) id happily donate my womb as its no longer needed and just... well... there 🤷🏼♀️

She is a beautiful woman physically and mentally stronger than most because of what she has endured. More power to her.
@Chex Meh this was 5 months before the war. While it does take courage for some to come forward with these matters, it doesn't mean you have to compare them to others. Yes the people fighting in Ukraine are very courageous and strong, and so is this woman in her own way
@Chex Meh you're comparing two different things. People can call whoever they want strong instead of you who thinks the only way to be strong is fighting. So lowwww
@Chex Meh You are so brave and strong for saying that.
Matter of fact, you're more brave than anyone here including

@@theharshtruth8563 I'll hand that down to him since comment sections like this on certain videos or posts can be super sensitive to reality
Thank you for stepping forward with your story! It’s a reminder that medical science is helping alot of people with a wide array of different issues regarding sexual identity and expression. And we should never assume we know all the reasons.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and be educated on this condition 😊

This is so sweet! Thank you so much - it’s given me a much needed boost today☺️ wishing you a good day ahead
I have this condition too, and it’s comforting to find a video of someone else with the same thing. Dilator therapy has been something i’ve struggled to really keep up with because you have to start from pretty much nothing and go through the pain of effectively making one yourself. I used to have these plans to have children and a partner and getting the diagnosis at 15 made me re-evaluate what the future would look like (although there are other ways and adoption would always be an option too). Seeing videos like this makes me feel more ‘normal’ and this girl seems lovely🤍
You are completely normal and more power to you !! YOU ARE AS AMAZING AS EMILY ! 💜
@@Vrishchic I appreciate that thankyou🥰
@@maddiegalaska980 💕🤗
Maddie you are so incredibly strong and brave, you’ve got this sis! I completely understand the struggles with dilation - just try to relax, keep at it and focus on the end goal - but also remember that there’s no pressure and to do it in your own time.
I know it’s super tough that we have had to change our life plans and that things won’t go the way we originally hoped, but there are still options for us. Uterus transplants have come a long way in the past few years, and science&technology are moving so so quickly, so who knows what options there will be in 5 years - it’s exciting! Adoption is a beautiful option, and definitely not one to dismiss - after all, loving any child is what motherhood is about.
