I saw GFR twice in 1971 and twice in 1997.Soooooo GOOD all 4 times. I was a 45 year old 'groupie' when I patted Don on the shoulder as he walked by me on the way to the stage.
I saw mark live when he found jesus, was still a great show, again after he came back to Cleveland, he was back ,but left the change out ,he was still grand funk without mel and don,one of my favorite live shows at the agora ballroom ,still a great performance, bring back mark, amen
Hey haters I am a 70 year old singing drummer. Don Brewer one bad ass drummer, wrote and sang GFR"s only number 1 hit "we're an American band. Mark and Don split the band so more power to Don. Without Don the band was not the same but has rights to the name an songs. Farmer has his own band so what! It's the music that counts.
I think it when the bass player and drummer screwed over the guy that wrote the songs and was the lead singer and played lead guitar - that I said "nope". I moved on.

I like Don's playing and respect that he had a unique style. But this is basically a repeat of his solo from the first album 50 years ago. Not quite as good though. And long drum solos are simply out of vogue. But Don has to make it out like people go to see Grand Funk to see HIM. Nope. He was a part of a great musical legacy and this is not only a faint shadow of what once was, it's a reminder that he sold out a friend for a little more money and that makes him a piece a crap. Everyone here is talking all this shit about how grand funk is shit without Farner and ignoring this fucking killer drum solo, there’s still talented musicians
Really - pretty damn good rendition of TNUC. Are you upset he didn't play part of it with his head? He sure as hell didn't slow down for a nearly 70 year old drummer. Name another guy at 70 who is pulling this off live.
No Farner, No Funk
Amen brother !
NO FARNER NO FUNK
No Mark Farner - No GFR .
This is Sham Bunk Failroad
I agree there is no Grand Funk Railroad without The master himself Mark Farner. Don and Mel need to grow up and give there fans the real deal.
That's the Don Brewer Band. Great drummer you can't take that away but still agree, without Mark it ain't Grand Funk Railroad. Sorry.
Very well said, Brother
Homer Simpson called him competent.
Sure wish the boys would make up and bring us a great tour on 2022! We need it!
Mark says it's not alright
Don's still playing with all the power of a young Don Brewer. So good to hear him play like this.
That’s not grand funk. I don’t see mark farner anywhere on that stage.

Don Brewer a great drummer to a point
He never progressed though
Going to see them in June in Delaware. Still an awesome band no matter what some say
How many bands today will be remembered even 10 years from now? Classic bands like classic cars don't exist today.
I still remember every beat of that solo... kinda... which he played note for note... kinna... way way...way back then, even on the Live double album
Come on man make up and do it right.for everyone stop hating.🎸⚔️
No Mark Farner, no grand funk!!!
This is a garage band without Mark!!!
Que solo esfusiante de um dos melhores bateristas do mundo
The Heart of Grand Funk
Grand Funk Tribute band nothing more. Don and Mel should be ashamed of themselves, Mark Farner has more class in his pinky finger.
NEVER BE THE SAME, WITHOUT MARK FARNER!!! M.O'B

He was always a great drummer and always with that big smile. Easy to see just how much he loves performing.
