Ways of coping with anxiety and grief
    1) Allah is in full control of your situation
    2) Allah forgives your sins when you go though stress, anxiety, sickness or pain
    3) If you prioritize your Aakhira, Allah will take care of your Dunya
    4) If you help someone in any way, Allah will bring you ease in this world and the next
    5) Be grateful to Allah, and Allah will increase you
    6) Zikr and Salawat upon Prophet Muhammad (S. A. W.)
    7) Do lots of dua to Allah

    Lecture starts at 3:01
May Allah bless and have mercy on Sheikh Yasir immensely for his continuous eloquent and profound reminders. Ameen.
    The 3 duas mentioned by Sheikh Yasir are as follows;
    1) Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-hammi walhazan.
    2) Allahumma inni ‘abduka, wabnu ‘abdika, wabnu amatika, naasiyati biyadika, maadhin fiyya hukumuka, ‘adhlun fiyya qadha’uka asaluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka, sammaita bihi nafsaka, aw an-zaltahu fi kitabika, aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, awista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilmil-ghaibi ‘indaka, an taj’alal-Qur’ana Rabbi’a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jalaa’a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
    3) Hasbi Allahu wa ni'mal wakeel
May Allah swt bless you all for seeking ilm. Realise brothers and sisters that we might worry so much about the future not even realising our time can be up at any moment. There's no coming back after that. We have been informed about the level of regret we will feel in wanting to return and do more good so please start now even if it's a small deed but make it consistent.
We also realise that nothing significant comes without sacrifice in proportion to the reward and nothing is greater in reward than Jannah. Jibreel AS mentioned Jannah being surrounded by difficulties and hardships of all types. Even in this dunya when we've worked years or decades for something and finally get it, we feel it was worth the sacrifices that were made. Jannah's descriptions and eternal life are infinitely greater such rewards that we cannot even begin to fathom. It helps give our challenges meaning and encourages to increase good.
Brothers and sister let's make a sincere intention to do major good deeds like memorising the quran, performing hajj or becoming an alim for example and if we do not come around to actualising them for any reason including death - we at least reap the reward from the intention Insha'Allah.

When you feel grief remember these things
    • This dunya is a place of test, Allah send us here only to worship him and to test us
    • So we are never going to be fully satisfied in this dunya trials, test, tragedy and unexpected circumstance might come...
    • Think about who are more miserable then you, who lost the power of speaking, listening watching and paralised for some accident or other thing
    • Allah knows everything and allah understand your situation, allah knows how much you can handle.. Nothing can happen without the will of allah
    • He has a plan that we might not understand, give 100% trust in allah
    • There is a Hadith " if a person only concerns of akhira, allah will take care of all his concerns "
    • Even if you spent you whole life miserably, but if you passed allah's test and granted jannah that would be the real and ultimate success
    • Remind after life and death frequently
    • Worship more, do good deed, give sadaqah...that would feel better because you did something for allah...and allah would reward you for that...
    • Busy yourself with work

I notice that anxiety is plaguing the society and people of all faiths and no faiths. There are various levels of anxieties. Some are physical hardship such as disasters and illness while others are simply due to over emphasizing on the few problems we have while overlooking the majority of the blessings that we have. One of the best recommendations I have beside what has already be said in this Khutbah is that, go to the Masjid for congregation prayers as often as possible and interact with others even when you are feeling depressed. Physical interaction eases the load and stress. self isolation will perpetuate cycle of negative self talk. In addition, regardless of your level of piety, your presence around people who loves God has a tremendous effect on your soul and your heart. Remember the Hadith about a man of few good deeds that happened to be around a group of people performing the remembrance of Allah in a gathering. Allah said his sins too were forgiven. This shows that the blessings of others who are pious can benefit us if we surround ourselves with them. Allahualam. May Allah brings you and your family peace and eases your hardship.

I will always be thankful for his lectures. However my heart is not at peace with the fact that he is more shy to mention those who commit shirk (twelver Shia) than those that are extremists (ISIS).
By Allah it is a sincere doubt. Please help me I want to be at peace.
