Father thank You for waking us up this morning, and starting us on our way. Please continue to protect us in Your Strong Loving Arms where nothing can harm us.
Father I ask You to help me I have sinned before You by continuously worrying about my health, and my life. We are not supposed to worry, but I find it impossible most days not to think about things over which I have no control.
I am asking You to help me, and others like me to trust You in every area of our lives. It is very hard for me not to think about it because I am constantly reminded of my health issues. I have to remind myself to stop worrying, and most times that works. I have to contend with anxiety on a daily basis which I did not have until being prescribed a certain medication, now they want to give me a pill for that I am like NO WAY!!! I desperately need Your help with this Father.
Thank You Father for the lovely reading of Your Word, and for the reader. I ask that You continually bless him, and all that he holds dear. I pray this in the Matchless Name of Jesus Amen.
In a side note I heard Sinclair Ferguson of Ligonier repeat the Sanctus that was sung at Mr. R.C Sproul’s church:

Hey brother, thank you for another beautiful Bible reading. The scripture in Roman's saying "Do not put a stumbling block or a fence in your brothers way" made me really think more of how dark this world is because all the movies, TV shows & musicians pull/keep young and anyone away from God. The Grammys waa so satanic & they said "ready for the sacrifice" ( paraphrasing) just so demonic. They're always talking about how much they love Lucifer, even though he's Satan. Unbelievable. God be with them who serve evil.

It dawned on me while reading the story of Joseph this morning that God allowed Joseph to mess with his brothers' heads. It must have been because He knew that Joseph was not seeking revenge on them.

Do you think it's better to study as the way you are reading mute, going from chapter to chapter, or is it better to read through the whole book? Not meaning the whole Bible, for instance the book of Exodus.
My thoughts too. Maybe after Justin finishes this method he can edit the readings for a whole book by book version? Either way I love daily reading through the whole Bible!

Do you think that it's wrong to listen to the Bible instead of reading it?
@@solobo5823 the reason I ask, is how can you truly study the Bible if you only hear it? Or do you think you need to read it to be able to study at? I've been fighting these feelings for a while. Everytime I listen to scripture instead of reading it, I feel guilty. I don't know if it's conviction or not, but I certainly feel guilty.
The reason I listen to it more than I read it is because I fall asleep when I reach scripture. I fell asleep when I pray for that matter. Usually first thing when I get up in the mornings. Soon as I get up in the morning, I use the restroom and then turn right to my sink and pray before I do anything else.
In my experience reading the entire book back to front gives the best understanding of what's going on. The whole generally has information you can't get from taking all of the individual parts to look at individually.
I recommend that new Christians read John, Acts and Romans first, then go back to Genesis and read through the whole Bible, not getting caught up in things they don't understand, but just reading to familiarize themselves with the Bible as a whole. Then, a yearly reading as Justin is doing is helpful because let's say you begin at Genesis and really get into it, studying and reading slowly. You may end up spending months or even years just in Genesis and then you'll have not read from the Pauline Scriptures (which are given specifically to the Church for our daily living) for months or years at a time! It makes sense for Christians who already know the Bible to do what Justin is doing so that we are reading from 4 different portions of the Bible every day. Of course, that doesn't preclude also digging into a particular book for a longer period of time, but that would be on top of the daily 4-portion reading.

Takeaways from today:
ROMANS 14 talks a whole lot about EATING, and not EATING. Many people believe verse 5 is about Sabbath, but the WORD Sabbath isn't mentioned once. Eating , and not eating, and weak eat herbs, sounds like fasting to me.
From commentaries and teachings I've heard, Roman's 14 is dealing with meat sacrificed to idols. It was put before the idol raw, then sold in the market. The question believers were dealing with was , is it OK to buy and eat said meat? Paul's reasoning is we know that the idol is a false god, and meat is just meat. He did not have a problem eating that meat. But, if he was eating with another believer who struggled with this issue, he would not eat the meat so as not to cause his brother to stumble.
@@deborahbrixen1920 I still believe it is fasting, that is why a day one chooses over a different day would not matter. That would have nothing to do with idols. You just made me realize something! All of PAUL'S LETTERS are commentaries on Scripture. He answers and teaches based on the Old Testament WORD of God. That's why He's always quoting it! I see now, that without the letters written to Paul, or specifically knowing what the problems were in each congregation, we might ALL come to different conclusions of what Paul is saying.
@@deborahbrixen1920 You are correct. I have a whole chapter on Meats and Days in my book on Pauline doctrine. It's concerning that so many Christians don't understand what Paul is saying here. We need to help each other to understand.
