  • This first video covers my new Starlink Gen 3 unboxing and setup.
The setup was easy, and I covered a few reasons why I purchased the Gen3 over the Gen2, which are both the same price. Be sure to check out my following video on power use and speed using Starlink overlanding off the grid - link below:

Starlink has to figure out the power system for RVs/vans/overland vehicles etc. 50 to 100 watts is too much and you are stuck using an inverter unless you DIY a 12V conversion.

Given that the power brick is separate, I am hoping they will have a 12-volt version - when I ran it the other day, it was pulling 48 watts - I will be doing more looking into power draw on my next video! Maybe the rumors of the mini panel will use less?

@@sdrover The DIY videos I have see do not seem to difficult but I know as soon as I spend the time and money on that conversion SL will come up with a 12v adapter. Haha

3 Mb up!, anything less than 10 I consider it useless

I was not expecting much in this location, but in every review I've read, the upload speeds are not too good - I will be interested to see when I am in an area where not many Starlinks are operating.
