- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a 2016 American superhero film featuring the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman. It is a follow-up to 2013's Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).[4] The film is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio and David S. The film was announced at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con after the release of Man of Steel. Snyder stated that the film would take inspiration from the Batman comic book series The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller but clarified that it would follow an original premise. The incarnation of Batman in the film is different from the character's previous portrayal in The Dark Knight Trilogy, serving as a cinematic reboot of the character. The film is also inspired by narrative elements from the "Death of Superman". Pre-production began at East Los Angeles College in October 2013, with principal photography starting in May 2014 in Detroit. Additional filming also took place in Illinois and New Mexico, concluding that December.

I think that if the Snydercut does well (Which it will), then the DCEU will be supercharged with inspiration, and hope and we might just get something like that.
They should make it with a backstory of Batman rejecting his “No Killing Rule”

Regardless of who one believes is the best Batman, I think it is safe to say that this fight scene is the best representation of Arkham's Batman. Pure brutality and savagery. Poetic justice.

This is nothing like Arkham Batman. Arkham Batman does everything in his power to not kill. Batfleck blew up three trucks of goons, shot two, let two get blown up, and bashed one’s skull in with a crate. Arkham Batman would’ve used non-lethal rounds for the plane, would’ve only hit the guy with the crate, and not thrown it so forcefully as to kill him and leave a blood smear on the wall, he would’ve not even shot anyone, and he would’ve thrown the grenade outside to avoid anyone dying.

I think there had to be a time in Batman’s timeline when he said ‘screw this no-killing’ and just went to town on everyone.
Harvey Dent himself said ‘die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.’
While Batman isn’t a villain here, he’s definitely not ‘a good guy’. Even if - as some will argue - it’s what he signed up for, decades of fighting the same underbelly filth (AND getting at best grudging respect and admiration, like that mongoose you keep under the house for when the snakes slither by, to paraphrase Hannibal) takes its toll on a man that way.
And Batman is, all said and done, a man.
This is a pure combination of combat skills and peak human physical prowess.

One thing i love about older batman is how brutal he could be. He's no longer as fast,agile and high endurance like his younger self so he resorted to brute force to end the fight quickly. This is definitely the best live action batman fight scene.

The fact that he actually gets injured makes it better. It makes him a real hero that can actually be killed but he's skilled enough not to.
It was a such a nice touch, you can tell he was still rusty and isn't the same disciplined fighter he used to be. He let his guard down several times and got stabbed and nearly shot in the back of the head.
2:17 is such an insane shot of Batman plowing through three dudes during the explosion and then power Rock bottoming another dude.

The Superman-Batman fight is more story based and is partly sold on the idea of Superman and Batman finally meeting. This fight is just pure action choreography to showcase the coolest fight scene possible.

By far the most intimidating Batman that has ever graced the big screen. Brutality at its finest. How I imagine a Batman losing grip of his restraint. It should also be said that this is the kind of Batman who saw Superman’s mother as his own. How far would he go to save his own mother? I believe this answers that question.

You can tell this fight was inspired by Arkham gameplay, the device to attach to enemy weapons, the batclaw grapple then attack, counter at one time with multiple different enemies. Refreshing to see in movies 👌👌

Also: entering through the floor/ceiling, using vantage point above the enemies and performing inverted takedown, throwing a crate at an enemy, countering knife attacks, smashing enemies against the ground and so on.

The only thing missing in this scene were the wiggly lines above the enemies heads before attacking Batman.

The more I watch this scene, the more I realize that Nolan's Bane would struggle mightily against Batfleck big time.
I never liked that fight in DKR. Bale's Batman seemed too tough for Bane himself. The movie plot made him weak against Bane being a retired Batman. Batfleck is the best Batman we've had and he never got a solo film.

Absolutely underrated. Perfect in all of what a Batman fight should be. Not too short not too long, multiple enemies at once, acrobatic and also technical martial arts moves

i agree its a near flawless scene, personally my only issue is whenever he kills people, like the 2 guys with the grenades, the dude who gets his head slammed against the wall with that big crate, when he tries to shoot someone with a guys gun, and when he kills the guy at the end with the flamethrower. that's really the only issue with this scene for me personally, but as you pointed out the stuff like his martial arts skills and the fact its like 20 guys going in at once, feels like a sequence ripped out of the Arkham games

Every hit seems like he’s breaking someone’s bones. Good. I love this. Guy that stabs him, big mistake, gets a stab back with the same knife and twice as bad. Guy tries to rush him, gets hits head straight rushed through the floor. Epic.
Yep. Not gonna lie this brutality and even the *killing* Batfleck does is great. I don’t understand why people make it such a major reason to dislike his action scenes and character, but I do also think the established reason for him killing is kinda stupid.
In the weeks/months prior to this fight, he was training to go up against superman. He had to do an intensive workout, just so he could've worn that suit. This was litterly just after the fight he had with superman, which he won. That normal batsuit probably feels like a feather, in comparison to the one he wore earlier and I can imagine the knuckles on his gloves are rock solid.
He doesn't break them. He kills them.

I can understand why he's angry after losing your coworkers that was like family to you from a fight between aliens and losing Robin before this made him cruel and started branding criminals. After finding out Luthor pulling strings to have him and Superman fight, he wanted to do better and not kill. I will say that this Batman's theme is very solid and I think underrated from past Batman theme. This fight scene reminds me of Arkham Asylum when I first saw this in a trailer.

This is my favorite fight scene of all time simply because these low level goons actually give Batman a fight. The people act like hardened killers. That asian guy goes for Batman’s grapple gun. The other one goes for the headshot while Batman is pummeling another. Villains like these are the type that SHOULD be in every movie. Weak but not dumb.

Besides he’s not killing them directly, it’s more like “I just wanted to blow up that car, not my fault that guy was driving it” Like batman said in the movie too, “20 years in gotham alfred, we’ve seen what promises are worth, how many good guys are left…how many stayed that way”
Definitely the best Batman fight scene in history. In my opinion. Kinda reminds of Arkham and Dark knight returns.

This is just pure Batman. I get the appeal of The Batman (2022) but with the regrettable exception of the fact that this batman does kill, I think BvS understood a lot of the character from a comic and stylistic standpoint. He's an amazing brawler who blocks, parries, and redirects momentum
This is the Batman from the comic books who has mastered 127 martial arts and is the world's greatest martial artist. If you take Ben's combat skills and Robert's Detective skills you have the complete Batman.
I watched a video here on CZcams about how Batman is actually going from one martial arts style to another here seamlessly. The video outlined techniques, etc in a very detailed manner. It was a great video, but I can't seem to find it. Not sure if it was taken down or what.

I love how the choreography is built to have most of the goons attacking together, pulling on his cape, and othert things. Theres very little downtime for everyone, it seems like no one is standing still and actually giving batman a challenge as he cleverly uses the environment to his advantage. This is an awesome scene.
Except the guy with the grenade who pulls the pin and then just stands around holding a live grenade waiting for Batman to do something about it.

I don't know why they didn't let Ben Affleck continue to play Batman. I actually thought he did his part & pulled it off tremendously. Best fight scene for Batman thus far.
And Affleck is a proven movie writer & director so you know it would have been awesome.
This Batman is best fighter however he's killing people (Which is big taboo for B-man) and he doesn't look like greatest detective (he didn't know Superman real identity when he had like 2 years to guess it lmao)
@aahmeer I hate that people can’t wrap their heads around this concept, “bbbb-but Batman wouldn’t kill ever” well the one in this universe breaks and does, that’s the entire point. He’s not supposed to be comic accurate Batman clearly, we haven’t gotten a live-action Batman so far that has been completely comic accurate, hopefully Pattinson changes that, but if he doesn’t and it’s another different take, that’s fine too as long as it’s good (by the sounds of it though they’re definitely finally leaning into the “greatest detective” thing now).

Batman Do Not Kill, it's his iconic rule, deal with it. Whole Injusctice began because of this rule, this is Batman main line which he do not cross in 99% Universes where he's good charcter and if Snyder decided to break this rule just for sake of epic and cool action scenes, that's his problem not mine, he got punished for it and expeled from DC universe for good.

This really shows a depiction of how strong and tough he is, he literally got stabbed and threw a man through a wall, punching someone about 7ft across a room, and lifting crates to throw
He actually punched the dude 20ft of distance, and the dude weighs probably 195lb traveling at him 18mph, that’s an incredible feet

The grapple gun he uses can lift twice his body weight.. that's how he launched the crate (not that this batman probly couldn't do it raw if he wanted)

This is the best representation of how Batman fights. Eventhough he doesn’t kill criminals he brutally beats the shit outta them. Robin literally says this in the comics. He said “you don’t kill people but you’re fine with giving them severe brain damage?”

The brutal punch shots ,the more muscular n huge body size, defense attacks … his aromor plate kavilar suit potential at zero range … the dark suit … the gruesome hits he took n learnt the whole fighting pattern.. retaliation…. The infamous The Bat stare while apprehending the goon with his own knife … this is so so impressive… The Batman I would want to see … why couldn’t people appreciate Ben Affleck is something I don’t understand

the drop of sweat on batman's mask at the end when he is staring down the dude that stabbed him... such a cool tiny detail of realism after an epic fight.
I don’t think that was intentional, Ben like anyone who’s wear a Batsuit, was incredibly hot and sweaty, in the behind the scenes you can see like 3 or 4 fans aim at him constantly.
What's more peaceful than watching Batfleck kicking the shit out of these guys.
What I love about this scene besides the obviously good choreography and intensity, is the overall true to character strength you see from this Batman, if a guy goes to learn every martial art there is along with working your body to basically physical perfection you should be rag-dolling people as he does in this, combined with the ferocity of his attacks since Batman definitely fights with emotion, you can get a sense of the real Bruce/Batman throughout this.
The strongest man in the world couldn't do half of what he just did. Idk doesn't feel realistic for someone without real powers

The fact we didn’t get a solo Batfleck Batman movie is a crime. Any scenes him and Alfred were alone, or him doing Batman shit, were all very good and convincing. Rushing his character and not giving him his solo story is a fucking waste.
