In South America, it’s really the big 3 followed by the rest. You need to take club history into this context as well (especially the 60s-90s, which really forged who the giants were in popular culture.)
Argentina had their drops in the early-mid 70s. Then, had a big resurgence in 78 onwards. Uruguay were elite in the 60s-early 70s, and underperformed in the 80s (still a great side). Then anything post 2010 have been great. + 5 World Cup semi final appearances (which is insane). Brazil severely underperformed in the mid 70s-80s and saw their big resurgence in the 90s onwards. The 2000s onwards can be argued depending on your expectations. (Always amazing, but losing key knockout matches).

Colombia above Paraguay in terms of all-time achievments ??? Paraguay if i'm not mistaken after the big 3 has the most finals played in Copa America, they won 2 Copa Americas which is one more than Colombia and also i'm pretty sure they've played more times than Colombia in the WC, both of them reaching the QF in terms of their highest performance.
    Ranking :
    1. Brazil
    2. Argentina
    3. Uruguay
    4. Paraguay
    5. Chile
    6. Peru
    7. Colombia
    8. Ecuador
    9. Bolivia
    10. Venezuela

Yeah that’s fair - I think we may have rated Colombia a bit higher because of our own experience! Paraguay certainly have an outstanding history!!

@@DaggerofTime Peru has 2 Copa Americas and has reached the QF of the WC twice. I know that back then QF meant surviving the group stages but we also must remember that it was also harder to qualify for the WC back then, there were fewer spots than they are today.

The reason Brazil doesn't have more Copa Americas is that they didn't allow black or colored players to play for their national team. I believe it wasn't until the 1940's when they allowed players of non European descent to play on their squad.

This guys don't know anything about football and specially south america, one of the worst tier lists i've seen so far, Venezuela and Ecuador are currently sitting on 4th and 5th spot being both surprisingly strongs teams lately, as opposed to the last three Peru, Bolivia and Chile who are playing horribly, and talking about horribly, Brasil is 6th place below Ecuador and Venezuela, getting a draw from Venezuela, barely winning against Peru and losing againts Argentina and Uruguay, yet you want to place them as the best team? ABOVE current world cup winning team and current copa america title holder?
    1. Argentina/Uruguay
    3. Colombia
    4. Ecuador
    5. Venezuela
    6. Brasil
    7. Paraguay
    8. Chile
    9. Peru
    10. Bolivia
