I really enjoyed this video and heartily agreed with every word… Until, sadly, the final two minutes, where I simply find it impossible to agree with Mr Tice's teaching. After having betrayed Jesus, Peter was no longer included as a disciple. That's why the angel said: "Go, tell his disciples AND Peter", indicating that Peter was not among their number at that point. We know that Peter repented, and was ultimately restored and forgiven on the beach of Tiberias (John 21). But forgiveness is not automatically imputed for any transgression, as the Bible says: 2 Tim 2:12 "If we deny Him, He also will deny us." Mr Tice claims: "If Peter would only trust Jesus, then all of his sin, every denial, every failure to love God as he should, would be fully and finally forgiven." But Jesus never once preached that men only need to "trust" Him. He preached that all men must REPENT, turn from their sin, and KEEP in Jesus' teachings. If a man doesn't do this, he cannot claim to truly "trust" Jesus in the first place. For the Bible says: 2 John 9 "Whoever transgresses and DOES NOT abide in the doctrine of Christ DOES NOT have God." Hebrews 10:26 "For if we WILLFULLY SIN after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there NO LONGER REMAINS a sacrifice for sins, only a certain fearful expectation of judgment." Mr Tice speaks of a Christian friend who died, saying: "Stuart knew he was a sinner, just like Peter, just like you and me". That is sad to hear. But as a disciple of Jesus, I truly trust Him, meaning that I have believed and FOLLOWED His commands, turning from ALL sin, remembering the Lord's solemn warnings: Matt 5:30 "If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell." John 15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned." Matthew 7:26 "Everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
