PRAISE GOD, He opened my eyes to the warnings of the Bible - that all humans WILL be judged and for everything we've done wrong. Our only hope is God's Son, Jesus, through whom we can be made right with God and receive eternal life. I agree with this video on that most critical issue!
Though with the greatest of respect, I believe there are also some faults in the teaching of this video. In case anyone is interested, I'd like to share some views on four of the issues raised in this video…
    *1. "Punished for our thoughts"?*
Firstly, Mr Tice teaches that humans will be punished for bad THOUGHTS. It is certainly true that sin ORIGINATES from sinful hearts and thoughts (something which the Lord Jesus is able to cure us of, when we're regenerated by His Spirit). But does the Bible ever say that the world will be judged for their thoughts? No, it always speaks about judgement for WORKS:
    Rev 20:12
"And the dead were judged according to their WORKS"
    2 Cor 5:10
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things DONE in the body, according to what he has DONE, whether good or bad."
*2. "Punished for failing to love God"?*
Mr Tice also teaches the idea that "failing to love God" is a sin! But "failing to love God" is simply a missed opportunity. SIN means wrongdoing - evil - immorality. "Failing to love God" is no crime and no one will be punished for it. God only punishes evil, He doesn't punish people just for not being believers!
Loving God is indeed the greatest commandment, but not all commandments concern sin. The Sabbath commandment, for example, is not about sin, but about good mental and physical health! :-)
    *3. "Eternal torment"?*
The idea Mr Tice presents here that everyone is "the ultimate sinner" builds to the conclusion that God will repay all humans with the worst fate imaginable - 'eternal torment'. But there really is nothing about that in the Bible.
The Lake of Fire is an "eternal fire" because it was created for Heavenly individuals like the Devil, the Beast, and the False Prophet, who (we presume) are immortal beings. So they will live forever in the Fire (Rev 20:10). However, there is no reference in the Bible to mortal humans "going to live" in the Fire forever. Jesus says they will be "thrown" into the fire and will "perish", and this is the "second death".
If anyone believes that the proper punishment for human sins is an eternity of punishment, then surely in order to take that penalty for us, Jesus would have to be punished for all eternity? But the Bible says that Jesus paid the price for our sins in full - IN ONE DAY!
    *4. "Religion is bad"?*
Finally, Mr Tice also seems to have a very negative view of devout religious Jews (or Christians) who aspire to live by God's commands.
Sure, the Bible gives us many religious hypocrites who persecuted Jesus, but there are also many examples of lovely, devout men who feared God and were loved by God. Simeon, for example, whom God called "just and devout" (Luke 2:25), or Joseph of Arimathea, a Jew whom God called "a good and just man" (Luke 23:50). Their Jewish religion obviously did them a lot of good.
Of course, we now know that the Old Covenant Law was not God's ULTIMATE SOLUTION to the problem of sin. But the Law was still a very GOOD thing! It gives the world an example of how to live righteously. And even though no carnal man was able to fully keep the Law, its commands still give us good and right social values to aspire to. Everything written in the Law is true and good, from the lips of God.
So I find it strange when Christians like Mr Tice speak so disparagingly of the Biblical religion. Almost regarding it as worthless or irrelevant. Paul said that the Law is good (1 Tim 1:8). And Jesus said He did not come to do away with the Law - but that anyone who breaks the commands of the Law is in trouble, while those who teach and observe it will be blessed (Matthew 5:17).
Jesus plainly said: "If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17). Thanks to the New Covenant, we are able to fully keep all His commandments, being filled with the Holy Spirit, no longer having sin dwell in our hearts, but becoming good, godly people (Acts 11:24). :-)
This is the good news! Not "avoiding eternal torment", but being BORN AGAIN and having our hearts transformed into something new and good! :-)
