    In the early 80's I was chainsaw felling trees behind a 528cat winch % chokers we were logging in over mature forest Fox Creek Alberta.
    Looks really easy sitting covertly in one these machine felling and bunching trees
    Very good operator Very well done video
    The down side is that we are stripping our Canadian forests to sell our lumber in over populated countries that do not have no respect for the environment

    I used to run a Butt-n-Top back in the day and the first time I saw a self levelling buncher in action blew me away. Impressive machines to be sure.

    Nice job laying that wood down nice for the skidder men. Around here you start getting close to the buncher man and they make such a mess to slow you down skidding.

      Thank You! We never make a mess on purpose to slow anyone down in the next phases. We have a very organized system of how we fall to minimize ground disturbance, keep it organized for skidding/chucking. We also 100% sort the spruce/pine and balsam into separate bunches and fall patches pointed in the best possible direction to the road for the best roadside processing and loading.

    I'm no certified faller or logger, but I do firewood logging.
    But you are a good operator because your lay and organizing of your timbers is amazing and very clean 👍👍👍.

      “Back in the day” two brothers that were hand fallers from Huston bc area, carried around a photo of a buncher that had caught on fire and burned to the ground, it’s was one of the best pinup photos in the bunkhouse. ( hand fallers, use chainsaw pretty much 100% European saws,if that includes scandahoovia)

      They replant trees. Where they log. Tree planters in the summer make good living planting trees every place they log.
      That's why it's called renewable resources.

      We do, idk where you get your information but I've already been logging stuff that the old boys were logging back in the day. Cut it down replant (old growth is a different story) but there is lots of regen and old forest that has 100 year cycle trees that's good for logging and replant

I fly the foresters desperately looking for more wood and BCTS trying to conjure it out of thin air. Mills will be closing. Current BC forest practice code is broken and logging hasn't been sustainable since the pine beetle started.

      @@billbill7894 unfortunately that's either a fantasy or more propaganda, the foresty leaves behind a total disgusting mess everywhere they go. There is little to no oversight. I've seen more oil left around when dirt biking than anyone would believe. All left to leak in our beautiful BC forests with no care for future generations. I have taken on myself to sabotage and terrorize the loggers with millions in damages in the hopes they leave but all in vein as they just move somewhere else.

    I know this is off topic, but a friends paraplegic daughter wants to know this. Actually now that she brought it up I'm curious too.
    I wear steel toe corks (spike sole logging boots) 12 hrs a day/6 days a week year round.
    Can you wear steel toe boots there (I know it'll be a bit uncomfortable at 1st), or is there a safety reason NOT to wear them?

      These guys are running climate controlled cab machines,not allowing caulks in there , …outside sure, but up north we often just worn 70 below insulated boots, if it’s true steel toe , and not an plastic safety toe, you probably start noticing it at about -15 C and definitely at -25 C and below.

    Are you guys running a 5702 head with the 340 wrist on all your machines?

      Yes all four of our machines have the 340° wrists, but we have the stoppers off. 1 of the C models have the Tigercat stock 23” cut head and the other C model my dad upgraded and bought a 30” cut 5702 head from Lowen Equipment in Kamloops. It’s a beast of a head. Then the two new D models have the new Tigercat 5702-26 26” cut heads, same head as the regular 5702 with a bigger saw.

      Where it is possible yes, most of the time the areas we cut have all harvestable timber

      @@dobs78 shouldn't bee running a utv through those areas then if there is shit left, lots of garbage gets left on the ground because it will decay and acts a fertilizer to replenish the ground. There are lots of leave patches and non merchandise that's gets left behind. Try working in the field before you open your dumbass mouth

      No we haven’t been on the 2000 rd yet, we’ve been on the 700 lots, 6900 rd, 200 rd, 500 rd on the 200 rd, mostly around the bear lake area. Last year we did do lots between bear lake and McLeod lake. When my dad started his company 8 and a half years ago he started in Fort St James.

    Why cut trees in middle of winter there were already had massive logging scale in summer If you guys keep logging like this there will be no old growth left and many forests will turn into grass because of wildfires

      Yes we are a sub contractor to a contractor in Prince George. My dad started out 7 years ago with one machine a Madill 2250b and slowly built up his company and reputation to where we now have 4 Tigercat machines and do all of the bunching for our contractor.
