Hey DK, how come when you talk about Calvin Austin you talk about him like he’s just some ordinary guy? I can recall during his training camp you gave him high praises. And he hurt his foot, we didn’t see what he could do. Then he had Mitch Trubisky, then he had Kenny Pickett. Wouldn’t you agree that he showed flashes that he could be a legit number two. And let me leave you with this. There’s a receiver and Baltimore who is the same height same speed and same bill as Calvin. He did some awesome things, start giving Calvin just a little bit of credit. DK. Great show.

Omar Khan knows what he is doing. He will NOT overpay for a WR. The STEELERS will get who they get. It will be interesting to see the next 5 years. I'm hoping for at least 1 more Super Bowl WIN before 2030.

Sutton for a 3rd rounder would make the Steelers SB contenders IMO. Russell already knows how to play with him. He isnt as fast as Aiyuk, nor the route runner. But giving up a 3rd, and getting a 6'4" Possession and even deep threat that our QB has played TWO YEARS WITH, who is genuinely a VERY underrated receiver is a no brainer. Sutton catches almost all passes thrown his way. GET HIM, NOW.
I think that Route makes the most sense 🤔 with All the drama around Aiyuk .. both would bring huuuggge upside but Sutton is a great option for our room !! 😎
Now to complete the 2024 Steelers. We need to repeat the Wilson philosophy (Russel Wilson, Roman and Payton Wilson) and Resign Cam Sutton and Trade a 2025 4th and 5th round pick for Courtland Sutton. Then Bring back Eric Rowe and Markus Golden. They were solid players.
Courtland Sutton is not worth a 3rd pick...he's always hurt...a#4 or something
Calvin Austin never got his chance. He's electric with the ball, hate to see us campaign for more when we could have it right now
He doesn't fit Arther Smith offense , we need tall blocking wideout .

@@gusbub13Shows how much you pay attention to football bud. Roman Wilson is a phenomenal blocker, there is hours of tape you can watch showing this. He’s also two inches taller and almost 30 pounds heavier than Austin.

He's too small and struggles with getting jammed at the line by CBs. He had his chance he never capitalized on it. He's a kick returned at best

Good morning DK. Usually I'm old school and I want them to utilize all 3 of their TE's and let the WR group develop. However, as good as Pickens is, he needs this year to prove he's a number 1. And we'll only be able to see if the others are legit #2 and #3. I don't speak much on offense but they must think they have a group of WR's they can trust to develop. I don't see an elite WR group. More like middle tier but that's ok. Hopefully they can win with that group. Hell, they won a Superbowl with Ward, Randel El and Wilson.

Giving up key draft picks for a star is one thing. Giving up your tallent for another is marginal.
Adding too much possible talent can cause you to miss out on your own diamonds that you won't ever give an opportunity. Recently we've done this at QB, RB, DL, OL, WR.
DK, what about the moves made we should be comfortable and ready to go . I really don’t think we need a number one receiver. Let the team show who that is but yes, it’s supposed to be GP. I feel good about that. I really think ownership and the coach feels the same way.
I'm betting on CA3 . He is ready to do what he came to Pittsburgh to do!
I'm totally with you on college football
I love Roman Wilson, but if we really see him as just a slot, then, imo, it’s a really bad pick. Especially when there was someone like Javon Baker on the board. I’m thinking we aren’t going to be running a ton of 3 WR sets in Smith’s offense, so to use a higher draft pick on WR that will hardly see the field and still “have to go find” a WR 2? I don’t see it. Especially when CA3 could alr fill that WR3 role? I have to believe that the Steelers think that Roman Wilson can replace Diontae as a legit 2/ 1b or the pick makes no sense. Yes, they motioned him and schemed him open in coll, but he showed the ability to win 1v1 at the Senior Bowl. We are all acting like he’s tiny, but he’s every bit as physical as DJ was, even more so.
Hey DK. Assuming that we do go out and get a number 2 WR, and we also have Pickens, Wilson and Austin, who do you see as being the Heyward-Bey of the team this season. For that past few years, it had been held down by Miles Boykin. But out of Mims, Jefferson, Watkins, Fitzpatrick and Calloway, who do you see as making the team as primarily a Special Teams Ace type without really contributing to the actual Wr position?
Austin on the other side of Pickens and Wilson in the slot or Jefferson. If we do go get a wr if should be Sutton. Can't afford BA because we have to pay a QB and Harris next year then Pickens
Im sure we would all prefer a Aiyuk or sutton to a OBJ, in a vacuum, but obj probably comes cheaply enough (halfish of the available cap?) to allow fo one last difference maker to be signed on D (and wouldnt require draft picks)
I love the college game, and the atmosphere. Everything else about it is, yes, an unmitigated disaster so I cannot bother watching it. Sucks come draft time when I end up only knowing a little about maybe 20-30 players, but it doesnt seem to have affected my enjoyment come draft time.
I believe in Calvin Austin, He made some big plays for us last year. but it wouldn’t hurt the Steelers to go out and find another quality receiver. because let’s be honest the secret is out about George Pickens. They’re going to be double teaming him all year so like they did Antonio Brown and juju Smith-Schuster a lot of ball throwing his way… we don’t have time to develop another wide receiver. We need to get TJ Watt, and most importantly Cam Hayward a Super Bowl ring.
Dear Steelers...please don't over spend or give away draft picks for another receiver just because we need another receiver.
This is why Courtland Sutton is the perfect match. He is hardly a downgrade from what Aiyuk would give us. And we'd only have to give a 3rd or 4th rounder for Sutton as opposed to giving up a dang 1st for Aiyuk which is absurd.

Couldn't agree more with you on college football. Schools have been making soooo much money off of students who haven't been able to see a penny of it until recently. And the nonsensical way playoffs have always worked has destroyed every shred of my interest
Why not give Hakeem Butler another camp shot.
I think he is restructuring for QB contract not for WR. Fields specifically is younger and we are going to need a QB after this year.
Why not have a bi-weekly game with AFC vs NFC practice squad guys. Expand the practice squad rosters and each team sends 3 or 4 guys.
My thing is if George goes down we don't have much behind him. We definitely need at least Courtland Sutton type number 2. Steelers should meet with Chase Claypool and show him a bunch of his poor blocking clips and tell him we cant have that haha.

I would love to see a 1 year deal with one of these wide receivers for 20 million without having to give up any trade assets. We just might get that if one of these teams is forced to cut their player
And quit sleeping on Austin! We get to find out how good he is this year with better Qb play and OC playcalling
I hope he can break out because what we've seen in pre-season than that one play vs raiders he needs to be on offense atleast 25% of the time just to be that long ball threat.

I am not sold on Calvin yet. He hasn’t proven his return skills. And has done nothing receiving. Maybe the latter has been more of a QB issue we will see. Crossing my fingers he makes it happen this year. But I still want a good solid number 2 and a third to take Calvin’s place as needed. A larger Receiver that can also block would be nice.

DK Brandon Aiyuk IS worth a first rounder if necessary because:
1. You aren't guarenteed to find a better receiver in the bottom 3rd of the draft next year.
2. We can start using him right away instead of waiting until 2025!
Pinkins was not quite as good with Dionte out. There needs to be at least one more dominent player.

The room needs a senior receiver with maturity and leadership. That is not, Pickens. He does not have the maturity. This is evidenced by his behavior last year.

Agreed. We will pretty much have a power offense. We won't throw the ball much.
Pickens is an "X" not a number one Receiver..Thats why we drafted Wilson to play slot like he did in college..A number 1 Receiver is a "Z" because they run Left to right very well...Their called Route runner..."X" Receivers runs post, digs and straight deep...WE NEED an X Receiver..its not Pickens
I’ve been pushing the minor league football thing for quite a few years now and don’t know why they haven’t already done it. It seems like there is almost no downside and benefits everyone. It’s good for the league for the players as well as the fans.
I agree, a minor league would be good. Remember NFL Europe? It gave several NFL players their break, such as Kurt Warner and Adam Vinatieri. It helped spread the sport elsewhere and attempted to develop non-US talent. Look how much the MLB, NBA, & NHL have benefited from having foreign stars. Think that might bring in more money for the NFL, too???
NFL should buy the arena league and use it as minor league for players and coaches development..

Not sure why this is a “need”. Sure it would be great to sign a top end WR, but let’s not over inflate what we are replacing. DJ had one 1000 yard season and averaged 5 TDs with a less than stellar YPC over 5 years. He’s basically Yancey Thigpen v2 minus the ability to block and at times a poor attitude. I don’t recall anyone calling for the team to give away players and picks in order to pay Thigpen’s replacement 12% of the salary cap.
Is our WR room the envy of the league? No, but I could argue that it is better than it was last season already after drafting Wilson, and I suspect we will be running 12 personnel more than anyone this year.
Why talk to the colleges?! Because, as of right now that where all your players are coming from! If they weren’t already tied hand and foot to whatever talent is in college I would agree.

It's not even really about pickens. Even if pickens is randy moss and if roman wilson is the best slot in football, you need to do better than Van Jefferson opposite pickens.

I dont watch College football anymore. Dont like the way the playoff is set up. Same reason i dont watch Nascar anymore. They need to get rid of stages and go back to the old format. Pickens is still too immature to be a no. 1.

Already tired of arguing with people about Roman Wilson. The guy isn't a #2, just a slot receiver who was constantly put in motion to get a running start on a safety 😂😂His YAC is terrible too. For a speedy receiver he has little to no escapability . Havent seen any tape of him on the outside excelling against press coverage either.

AB was selected in round 6, did you or anyone think his was going to be #1 on the team let alone #1 in the entire league? nobody will actually know how Roman Wilson will turn out.
