"Blimey, you're ugly." Best opening line of any sketch, ever.
Stephen didn't think so :P :P
He is an ugly bastard... 50p
I use it everytime I open the door to a door to door salesman
Now *I* am in control of the conversation
Or
"Hello, I'd like to buy a hedge, please."
Oh I heard "morning, you're ugly" which was kinda funnier because he was being polite and rude at the same time 😂
The new season of Top Gear looks great.
Look at you for seeing the future!
pinkriffic didn't turn out that great, did it?
Well 4 year's ago it was awful .. o.k. now june 2019
I honestly thought that was James May in the thumbnail when this came up in my suggestions.
@@4i4kov Same
I love how Hugh lifts it above Stephen's head instead of just turning it over XD
Don't wanna flip it
Of course. One does not flip over an Aston Martin!
"You're ugly."
"We're not doing that one."
That's straight out of the Pythons, but Fry and Laurie are fantastic anyway.
He's not wrong, £4 is a good price for an Aston Martin...
Mikeado66 you're right because this is hand built and on top gear they said that hand built is just another word for that the door will fall off
No I mean that is a smashing prize, I just looked it up and the current going rate for a good condition DB6 it’s anywhere between 500,000 and $1 million. So £4 for one in that kind of condition is an absolute bargain
Although adjusted for inflation it would cost £12.51 today, which of course is an outrageous price.
Stephen's expressions are so adorable, particularly when being told he's ugly, and when he plays with the car...
Completely unsuitable comment for the brilliancy of the pair and sketch, but it's all I've got.
Hello there, person-from-the-past..! What's it like in 2010?
I lost it at the 'ugly' remark XD
Did you find it again?
@@waynemarvin5661I was literally thinking of typing that exact reply...but you already did it for me..!
Maybe in another year (or 9) someone will comment further..!
"If you remember...I didn't like it."
I always lose it at “Blimey, you’re ugly.” 😂
Young Stephen Fry was a looker though in my opinion
……….they're not seriously suggesting Stephen Fry is ugly
I think that was part of the joke, wouldn't have worked the same if he had been objectively unattractive.
@@he-mememan359 It's funny cos it's true
Fry and Laurie, they're just too brilliant as a duo
I wish we could have comedy like this in the states
stephen looks so hurt at the end! it's adorable
Aww! Stephen's face when he says, "I didn't like it".
Stephen's face at the end is so cute!
Fry and Laurie are the best!
I had that exact same little car when I was a kid. Loved it. It was my favorite one on the lot also.
It's SO cute when they do the little test drive!
That's a DB5 - DB6 had a squared off Kamm tail without the wings. And the colour is "silver birch". Pedantry over.
You're right, that poor man just drove off thinking he'd won the lottery! Shifty used (toy) car salesmen.
I like to think it's part of the joke of the salesman not knowing anything about the car or the "5 point check" they're offering
I’m sooooo happy I’m not the only one who noticed this. The rear quarter glass was the dead giveaway for me.
@@Lucifronz a DB5 is much much more valuable than a DB6 though
@@kaivalyadivekar7121 Do I look like I care?
I remember when all of these were uploaded on youtube and I'd spend highschool watching them.
The good old days of everything being free on youtube... :P
They're still free on CZcams. All of the episodes.
@@mariadobrinescu6809 nah, copyright gets them
(in 240p, of course!)
That was a quite good car imitation if I say so myself.
This is one of my favourite sketches by far.
Every kid had that Corgi James Bond DB5...The little guy getting flung out of the roof...
I love them both, they are awesome
Hugh Laurie so young:D Love him
Both young and adorable :) Not to mention clever!
'Basically we do everything that is humanely possibly to the car..'🤣🤣
No uh, we're not doing that one... If you remember...I didn't like it...
HILARIOUS FOURTH WALL BREAKING!
I wasn't expecting the opening line to be thaaaaat... :)
1:58 "Well, we clean and polish it...then do the other 4 things..." hahaha!!!
That Stephen Fry haircut is ridiculous!!! 😂😂😂
Absolutely perfectly beautifully divine in every regard.
I love this! Men playing at being boys! If only we all were so honest!
It's just bloody brilliant, no matter how many times I see it.
Aw, poor Stephen! And during "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" he was at the peak of his physical loveliness IMO.
Thanks for the playlist--enjoyed it thoroughly.
> at the peak of his physical loveliness - God yes
True description of a 'Blag his way to a sale' type used car salesman.. Er.. The Aston Martin DB6... (When it's a DB5) Hahahaha 👌 😎🇬🇧
omg jeeves and wooster :D
I beg your pardon, Hugh, Stephen is NOT ugly ;D
Hugh: "Blimey, you're ugly!"
Stephen: "Mr Dalliard! Mr Dalliard? Break out the false passports and the rabbitskin hats. We are going to Moscow!"
S: 'tis clean, 'tis clean, yes.
I don't know why that makes me chuckle.
Have never seen this one before! Very good :D
Where has the time gone that 9 year olds would ask a toy car for their birthday..
OMG Stephen's sadface at the end. that was so precious :3
i am in pain laughing
their faces when they make the car noises!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favourite sketch
the first thirty seconds are the best part of this! "if you remember, I didn't like it." lol.
Hugh Laurie is the best!!!...
Anyone notice that next to the Aston Martin was a Formula 1 car? I'd have gone for that!
I always love how they start this one which looks like mistake!
Thanks mate.
The funny thing is that Aston Martin were owned by the tractor manufacturer David Brown for quite a while after WW2, so trading in a tractor for an Aston Martin DB6 might theoretically have been possible IRL too..........
Fry Looks like a younger James May
Classic!!
Boys will be boys!😄
1:14 is epic sounds!
Neither Fry or Laurie are conventionally handsome, guys.
For me, Laurie is one of the few guys that look better with scruffy stubble. And got better looking with age.
Diane Zimmerman oh yeah Hugh aged nicely. Him as House was one of my first crushes 😂
Disagree,Young Fry was Dashing
Fry's problem is the broken nose that healed crooked.
1:24 xaxa that sound is AMAZING....!!!!!!!!i'm cruying of laughs......
Blimey stems from Blind Me, it's a blending of a middle english curse, here used with great effect and apropriae
OMG!so freaking funny!
So funny!
'Blimey, you're ugly!'
'No... we're not doing that one.'
im so glad i wasnt the first person to notice that lol
@mikestevers26 the carol burnett show is probably the closest thing we ever had to something with this type of awkward, hilarious humor.
True
Stephen's wearing the same costume as in "the word gay" sketch
The "you're ugly skit" was originally done on the New Statesmen during the restaurant scene.
Yup. Needs a tune up!!
XD that was so ridiculous XD
Let's look underneath now!
Thanks.
Stephen's not ugly! He may be tall and unconventional looking but he makes up for it by being utterly adorable at all times.
Also, is that a Brabham among the cars on display?
I'm sure Stephen wouldn't mind my pedantry by pointing out that's a DB5 😁
yep this is true, i remember my grandma, for some unknown reason, going cazy because i said "blimey".........in the middle of the cinema..
"Morning! You're ugly." XD
Yeah bloody Clarkson, I can remember when Top Gear used to be about reviewing cars!
My life in a nutshell!
Are you an ugly bastard?
Fry:Yup a new DB10 please Salesman: yep 1p m8
it's a DB5, you can tell by the windows. the car in question is a toy of the car used by james bond in the film goldfinger and thunder ball. it isn't actually even a DB5 strictly speaking but a modified series 5 DB4 vantage.
it's a bond goldfinger DB5
This is the last one in the playlist?!!?!?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mikestevers26 Well youve taken Laurie!
@fivepointsix No it's not, the DB5 and DB6 look very similar though.
Just to point out something....thats not a DB6.....its a DB5.
No spoiler
fry also voiced little big planet
the interactive transcript at 0:46 it's for my nephew anti-christ
Clearly a 'bait and switch' deal. It's a DB5... the first 'Bond car' not a DB6. Tsk tsk...
Not at all. The DB6 is very similar to the DB5. But that is very much a DB6. Look at the head and tail lights.
“If I had the money...” - looking at the list price:”4£”.
it was a DB5
See, it's this kind of subtle, yet in your face type of humour in comedy that we are missing here in the states. Thank goodness we have the internet, and it's far reaching, diverse, yet strictly conformed spectrum of Broadcasters (to coin the CZcams phrase) which share such morsels as this.
@taurianady That'll be 6 USD plus tax, thanks.
Of course these are SONS of Monty Python...
and VERY good at it.
Now hold on, I do. Was it a PB&J, or PB&H?
and to go further it stems from the minced oath "'cor [or 'gor] blimey" which is minced from "God blind me".
It was originally derived from "god blind me if I speak false"
Early 90s VR experience.
Funny, I could have swore this sketch was about cars?
@WiseOwlOfGallifrey Refresh the page the minute one comes on. 9 times out of 10 it won't play again.
Is it me or does anyone else get reminded of Christian Bale at 0:53 to 1:02 ... its weird, but he kinda talks like that... with the same expression and movements :|
Joy.
Austin Martian
That's an Aston Martin DB5, Bond's car
Tonight on Bottom Gear...
itsnt that a db5?
