Could you imagine watching Neil Young in concert in 1972, and he says, "here are a couple new tunes" and then proceeds to play "Heart of Gold" and "Old Man." Those incredibly lucky people had to realize they were listening to all-time classics.

We heard that Neil was in town visiting his mom who was sick. We were playing at a local watering hole and there was Neil eating and listening to the music. On a break my partner insisted on going to tell him what a fan he was so we went over to his table. My buddy told him that we were huge fans of his and apologized for bothering him Neil was as nice as anyone could be and talked to us, even complimented our music. He is as nice a human being as his music is great.

Neil Young, (born November 12, 1945, Toronto, Ontario, Canada), Canadian guitarist, singer, and songwriter best known for his idiosyncratic output and eclectic sweep, from solo folkie to grungy guitar-rocker. Early career: Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Young grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with his mother after her divorce from his father, a well-known Canadian sportswriter.

e, and played a televised concert in small theater there. In his song, "Helpless", the opening lyrics... "There is a town in North Ontario
      Dream comfort memory to spare
And in my mind I still need a place to go
All my changes were there." ....he's singing about Omemee.

Neil young is/was one of my all time favorite musicians, that being said I’m with jeff. Back in the day him and David Crosby , Steven stills, and gram Nash were on the cutting edge of political activism. Songs like Ohio spoke to that generation about the injustice wrought on the American people. He spoke out against the establishment and despised the man. Now he is the man, we become what we hate. To reach that level in the entertainment business a dues must be paid and when the powers tell you to bark , little puppy you better start barking. I’ve since stopped listening to his music because I no longer believe in him. I was a fan for 40 years, seen him in concert 9 times, there are many musicians I stopped listening to because of their selling out. Jamal brother man you should checkout joy villa. Look her up first see what she’s about then check out her music. What you know about bob Marley, bunny whaler, Peter tosh? There is a whole other genre to explore.
