There is also Indian and Chinese subsidiaries still running according to BBC
@@chonkemonke09 condor was a subsidiary of Thomas Cook. Thomas Cook owned 49% of condor. Condors been given a lifeline, but ultimately that airline will need massive investment to ultimately survive in the future, but for now it's still flying. Fingers crossed for its future

A sad day today 😢 - we only flew with Thomas Cook a matter of weeks ago from Stansted to Dalaman and back. We got engaged whilst on holiday and the crew were lovely when we bought champagne to celebrate on the way back - was one of the best holidays I’d ever had and always will be. Best of luck to all Thomas Cook employees affected and hope you all find work quickly.

I was one of their brand new engineering technician apprentices in manchester and lost my job just 3 weeks into the appro. Was the best company with the kindest hearted people. Will not be forgotten. Rest in peace Thomas Cook 💛

Yes i've only flew with Thomas Cook once within 3 years of travelling but it has to be hands down one of the best airlines i've ever been with. the staff was so polite and caring. You hate to see such an amazing company crash this way.

A Brilliant holiday company thank you to all the great staff in our local shop, check in airport staff, cabin crew, pilots, ground staff, resort reps and all the great Thomas Cook hotels. I enjoyed every holiday i ever went on with you - not one bad one!! I will miss you all, good luck to you all for the future!!

My dad worked for Thomas cook. You couldn’t describe the despair on my face when they went bust. I would ask my dad everyday if it was OK at Thomas Cook.
Thomas Cook took me to Lapland when I was 8 years old, was the first plane I ever went one, and got to see the northern lights

Thomas cook was the best airline to fly with.
Our little boy was 18 months old and he flew first time With Thomas cook, and it was our first family holiday to tenerife March 2019 the cabin staff were fantastic, and all the staff we booked with were fantastic.

End a an Epic Era, for the travel experts, loved for so many years, for millions of happy holiday makers, but alas such an abrupt end for those enjoying there holidays at this time. Thinking of all those employees who have been left high, and dry with no income, and lives to lead. I hope the government can make sure of there continued welfare. I Remember when I Saw a Boeing 757-200 with that Sunny Heart, i think those days will never repeat, Thomas cook was one of the best airlines, and one of the oldest tour operators around the world, I never got that luck to travel with TCX, i travelled with condor, and it was a great experience, MT TCX R.I.P. In July, my family and I went on a holiday we had been planning for some time. We booked with Thomas cook and they did everything you would expect from them. It's strange to think that all these people have lost their jobs and I hope that every one of them finds work soon. Our rep had been working for Thomas cook and is now probably searching for somewhere else in a Country he wasn't even born in.

For me, I’ve never seen so many people go the extra mile to save a company on the verge of collapse. A lot of us did overtime, keeping flights going until the bitter end knowing we would probably never see the money we were due.

(My sisters were going on Thomas cook but their flight was cancelled because she wasn't the last plane to take off in the Thomas cook company.)
Emotionally saddening beyond words. Those of us who's entire careers have been in the travel industry, both UK and overseas in all capacities have been part of the best family imaginable. So many memories & a lifestyle unimaginable by most who probably will be unable to understand the heavy hearts that we are feeling. Hoping everyone is able to continue their careers within travel, the best jobs in the world. Good luck to all, cherish all those fantastic memories, there will be more to come.
