- Rodney didn't say a word to his wife about the 1951 Chevy 3100 1/2 Ton they passed driving home from a Bluegrass festival. He didn't have to. She knew he saw it and she knew he wanted it. So they turned around to go look at it.

Great video. I got a 84 chevy c10 originally was a 6cyl converted to a v8 but dang I like this 50s Chevy truck.
my uncle had a 1949 Chevy two and a half ton dump truck and that was called bartha no matter what time of the year whatever the temperature was you getting in it up the foot be twice pull the choke hits the foot starter and it would start every time now that is what I love about the old trucks simplicity it wasn't fuel injected it wasn't fancy in today's society but you put a load on and put it in gear it would go anywhere it had a little bit of play in the steering but that's normal

My parents were out cruising and went past a 51 3 window... a few weeks later it was parked in our garage...
It connects with every age. From 4 year olds callin' mine ''Mater'' -- to high school & college kids taking pictures & posing by it, as it were an movie prop -- to Senior Citizens my age who want know what year it is. In reply to them i say; the title says '50, the doors say '51-'54, the motor & tranmission is a '54 truck motor & the rear end's a '70 Pontiac Catalina: which is still looking for a higher gear when out on the freeway. It gets a spot sanding & fresh coat of epoxy rust colored primer every election year since i had bought it back in '93. 7 years of that body style can't be beat.
LMC's been an ongoig asset to it's survival for sure!

WHAT CHEVY IN THE EARLY '50 HAD TWO SEATS ONLY.
I have a 51 Chevy pickup, been setting for years around about mid 90s going to waste. I traded my car 1988 fox I bought new, for my brothers 51, My car ran his had a blown engine. had another engine put in it. this mobile mechanic never got it started,I think he had no clue. my friend said: I should of never payed him. but he kept showing up i would pay gas and time, When I realized he said he can not figure out why it was not running. My Opinion he did not know what he was doing. I think he just took a shot in the dark think just had a bad ground. What a waste of my time and money.
