Emily is a very beautifiul song. Heard it played by saxophonist Paul Desmond many years ago. Fell in love with the song back then. Kenny Barron is a great jazz pianist one of my favorites. Had the pleasure of seeing him play with his bassist Buster Williams, and drummer Ben Riley many times whenever they played here in Philadelphia. Great rendition.
I've always loved Kenny's work and felt that at his deepest core he's a romantic...I mean just listen to anything he's ever played. If you don't hear love in his playing you are truly lost.
