70% of the pubs and clubs have closed since the 90s so maybe thats it but I remember we had more of a appreciation of getting out being you self pre social media so there's more of a anticipation of the unknown 🤔like what's going to happen tonight kind of thing.

I am getting on in years now and live across the other side of the planet. Broad street brought back many, many childhood memories. Also, I was married at the register office there. It has changed so much, but I remember Gas st, Ridley st etc. It’s been very nice following your videos Joseline, I wish a happy new year. Look after yourself love.

I used to go to the Figure Of Eight pub for a few pints, and the Tap And Spile on Gas Street, the latter had a selection of wines behind the bar, among the flavours were parsnip and rhubarb😁. Going further back to my student days, there was Faces nightclub which was a lot of fun, and where Five Star performed one of their first ever gigs in 1985. Anyway, have a happy new year and take that break, you deserve it.

The people were ready to party :) I am curious, no concerts in town? In my country usually you have 2 or 3 open air party's in the capital, at least 1 in each big city. As in the main television networks organize parties, which are actually concerts. This year nothing, as all gatherings were prohibited due to we know what. But also parties in restaurants & clubs (though I am sure not all respected this) were cancelled/prohibited. That's why I am curious if these are not a thing in Birmingham usually or they just cancelled concerts and not club parties.
Hello Oana, I don't think there were outdoor concerts in Town (because of you know what) but plenty of fireworks. Clubs, restaurants, bars are still open as you can see. So not much changed. There were probably some outdoors concert in Bham Suburbia... I remember years ago, there was a funfair in town I went to for the New Years Eve.
