True Tradition is given to us by Christ through His Apostles and His Body.
It requires Love to be properly received by those within the Church.
The Pharisees did not have love. That was their sin. Not that they had Traditions.

I just wanted to let you know I find your videos interesting and recently been bingeing them. And I’m more or less agnostic.
I was raised Anabaptist and am a preachers kid. Was in and out of church in my twenties. And in that time I attended a OCA church with five parishioners on a good Sunday. Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Nashville, Ohio. I also visited a local Greek monastery and became friends with a monk there, Father Michael. Everyone in the parish was a convert and knew their faith well. I attended for a little under a year and began catechism but eventually bowed to the pressure of my family and stopped going to church there.
I also attended a RC church during my time of wandering and did RCIA but was never confirmed, again due to family pressure.
I enjoy your channel because I’ve studied church history extensively and respect the traditions of the Orthodox Church. You’re very interesting and easy to understand. I respect you for standing for what you believe and not being afraid to call out bad bishops. I could go on. But keep doing what you’re doing.

This hubris of the academic theologian stems, I think, from the Western culture that created it: the assumption that 'intelligence' and academic prowess can give one a greater insight into the true nature of the Church - when in fact, Eastern Orthodox theology has always emphasised the flawed nature of the intellect, the limits of rationality, and the necessity for humility, while recommending the path of prayer and spiritual self-discipline as the true source of understanding. We must defer to the monastics, and not these new high-priests of the demos, particularly as a PhD is now so degraded as to be basically meaningless - signifying conformity to the world, and the social skills in manipulation and status signalling required to receive funding.

Fr George Metallinos - 'I Confess One Baptism' is a good resource for canonical baptism described by the Ecumenical Councils. Orthodox - Full immersion baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Heterodox Christians coming out of all heresies (denying the Holy Eucharist, the Holy Trinity, the Panagia, the Saints, the Liturgy, correct theology, and the Church and its Canons) were historically baptized into the Orthodox Church.

On the topic of you leaving your programme:
It is so difficult for Christians to find a spot in todayÂŽs society. When it comes to the work place your livelihood is at stake. I believe we really need to form some kind of micro-economy for Christians (and conservatives) so as to "circumvent" the power that the world has over us and help each other stay afloat. It's better to be Orthodox in a non-schismatic church even if it's ecumenical I imagine. It also shouldn't have to be up to you to get baptized, if it's not possible it's just not possible. Being received by Chrismation is not "invalid" and you would still be Orthodox and have access to the sacraments.
Maybe later down the line you'll be able to get fully baptized if it's something that keeps pressing you, but at the end of the day it's up to God, not the formulaic ritual and magic words. If it's your one chance then I'd say take it.

I have said it many times. If you’re Chrismated you’re part of the Church. However, baptism is the way in which we should receive everyone and often times people who haven’t been baptized will describe the feeling of something being missing.
I know someone who was in this spot. They went through terrible spiritual issues and finally got a “corrective” baptism. Now when they commune they feel the grace of God more fully and unhindered. They themselves are in a better state, and are able to bear their spiritual struggles more gracefully.

I was chrismated recently after 9 mo ths of catechesis. Baptism was something I went back and forth on in my head and with my spiritual father, who felt that a threefold sprinkling of water in the name of the trinity at a roman catholic church while i was an infant was sufficient. He did leave it open to me to decide. In the end, seeing as my spiritual father felt it was sufficient, and our creed confesses one baptism, i was recieved into the church via chrismation, and have been partaking in the sacraments of confession and communion since pascha. Do you think i should request a baptism? Would i need another chrismation if i do? Am i in danger by continuing to participate in the sacraments?
