    For those wondering about the slave pin, the option he showed is best. However, if you want, you can use the pin that holds the hammer spring in place as the slave pin for the sear. It is not the perfect length and I noticed that cocking the hammer back will make this easier. It sucks because if you realize you forgot anything or need to just change that spring out for the stiffer or softer spring, you will have to take your grips off. Either way, works in a pinch if you need it.

    Excellent video, thankfully I kept broken punch pieces to use as slave pins in future. With this guide I was able to successfully install select CGW parts (I couldn't justify spending +$220 for full kit on a new gun). At a minimum, I recommend to install/replace short reset kit, reduced power plunger spring, hammer spring and metal guide rod. You'll save some $ and still notice improved performance where it counts.

    Thank you. I just installed this kit today and your video took the mystery out. I didn't track my time, but it did not take long. As others have said, slave pins can be made from different items. I used an old allen wrench of the approximate diameter and broke it to the length needed. The lighter double action trigger is fantastic! I love my P-01 Omega!

    Cool...I installed the cgw pro kit in my P-07 but it didn't ship with any slave pins so I dremeled off a piece of one of my glock take down tools. According to my basic wheeler trigger gauge I've got a consistent 6 1/2 pound DA and a 3 pound SA. I love it!
    I was shocked to see how badly chewed up the stock firing pin retainer pin was...kinda scary because I carry it a lot.

    • @TheGunBench
      @TheGunBench  Před 5 lety

      Yeah I say it in other videos but I have a set of transfer punches that I use for slave pins, has a bunch of different diameters and you can make a bunch from just 1 size. Like 15 bucks at harbor freight. Also use the shanks of small drill bits works too. But yes this didn’t come with any I already had these from my Disassembly video.

    This is a great video, thank you! That is not a comment praising any video - I watched several others, and yours shines.
    Using it, I just installed the Cajun kits on my P01 and P09. Thank you again.
    Several small things if may add:
    - I used the hammer pin as a slave pin for the trigger return spring.
    - I used a small piece of a toothpick for a slave pin for the sear.
    - The sear pin may go a little bit too deep, preventing the ejector from sitting all the way back. If the safety level does not go in straight, but it is crooked towards the trigger, that is the problem.
    - Be very careful when hammering the beast pin in the frame - the firing pin must be pushed firmly. Do not ask how I found out.
    - I personally prefer the safety, as I have the feeling the trigger is smoother than with the decocker.
    - On my P09, the single action trigger pull went up to 3.75 lbs from 2.5 lbs. Still good weight, but an unexpected side effect.

    Hear me out. I just got a new P-01 Omega and the trigger feels great. I don't know if they vary but I'm wondering how much of an improvement there would be from this kit.

    • @TheGunBench
      @TheGunBench  Před 10 měsíci

      hmm that's fairly subjective, if you think the stock trigger feels great then I would think either you would notice a big difference, or you wouldn't notice any. Most people think the trigger sucks so when a kit is added we think it's the best thing ever. You said NEW so assuming brand new, I haven't touched a new p01 in a few years so maybe they've refined the trigger. Either way I think you would notice a difference, is that difference worth it? Hard to say. Have any buddies who have one with a trigger already swapped you could try?

  • @autonomousindividual7780

    Good video. However, I'm in the middle of a decocker install right now and it's been scary a few times. Im pretty sure its going to be fine but CGW is pretty damn reasonable for this job considering they do a consultation regarding how you'd like the trigger and they polish parts. I can't resist F'ing things up myself and learning, but I curse myself every time. That sear cage on the decocker is a bear for fat fingers. I can see it'll be easier the first time. The main thing is tap everything out Right to Left, DON'T force things and watch you don't rake a punch across the finish. Worst case you could send a box of parts to CGW afterwords. Although I'm sure they wont appreciate that advise. I just started dealing with them and bought 2 pro kits. They are nice people, by all accounts have a great product, and mail parts lightning fast.

    • @TheGunBench

      I use a transfer punch set or the shanks on small drill bits, cut them to size shave the ends. And yes sometimes it gets stuck cause the pin slide out I just pushed the pin back in a little and it falls back down where it needs to be
