Nica gets to see one of her favorite gymnasts, Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin, during the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars.
To all those saying she did nothing on the beam, with this routine she was actually paying homage to her mother, hence the 50% rhythmic gymnastics 50% artistic.
The ribbon was a tribute to her mom, who is a former Rhythmic champion!

What a great show! Nastia is amazing! Maybe she could have a rythmic gymnastics career after her artistic career!! With her backround in dance and amazing flexibility, let's hope she teaches the younger girls. Her style is beautiful. Thanks for posting!

I know this was 12 years ago, but the comments stunned me. First of all, this is gala program, not competitive gymnastics. She didn't even have to do any real gymnastics for crying out loud. Galas are for fun, not competition. Secondly, these kind of outfits are normal in gymnastics and dance world so please gtfo with stupid comments like "you look like a stripper" and "I lost all respect for her". She could wear an astronaut suit or the skimpiest outfit ever, but none of that would change the fact that she's one of best gymnasts in history. If you're gonna stop respecting her and years of gruelling hard work because of one outfit, you might want to judge yourself for that way of thinking.

She smiles all the time. But she's very focused. Its the Russian in her, she might look pissed, but she's really not. Its just means her mind if very focused on her routine.

She combined her mom with herself. Think about it her mom was a rhythmic gymnast and she's an artistic gymnast I do agree that she could have done more gymnastics but it was still pretty entertaining.

@tranvozcaya no, she trained so hard to win an olympic medal (and a lot of others), now she's just having fun while gaining some money. I doubt she was forced to sing any contract clause to make her take part in this show, i think she just done that for money and for fun. And in EU there are too some exhibition shows, only in most countries gymnastics is not so popular as in USA.

Nastia i love you but this is the "The Tour of Gymnastics Superstars" (borrowing splattiful's quote) This is i not the place to try pole dancing.
First of all, that was the beam and not the pole. Secondly, pole dancing is a very hard sport.

to me this is more ballet not gymnastics
not enough flips and stuff... 2 much dancing
when i went to see this i was like: i didnt pay to come here and see you prance around in a skimpy little skirt and bra on the side of the beam and play with a peice of string when you FINALLY get up with your hair down... this is GYMNASTICS, not ballet.
