Lech ski resort is located in the Arlberg region of the Alps in the northeast of Austria's Vorarlberg province, which is close to the Swiss border.
Lech is known as one of the world's prime ski destinations for the Royal British Family and the Royal Dutch family, and other rich and famous.
Lech sits in a valley in the middle of Ski Arlberg. Austria's most extensive and best ski area.
In this video, you will learn about the most important things you need to know before booking a vacation in Lech.
Watch until the end and discover all the future developments of the ski area and fabulous tips that will allow you to make better decisions and have a more enjoyable ski holiday.
Ski Arlberg, which Lech is a part of, made two significant developments in the last decade:
the building of Aunfeldjet gondola that connected the Lech-Oberlech-Zurs ski area to warth-Schröcken ski area, and the later development, the formation of the Flexenbahn gondolas system.
The latter connected St Anton- St Christoph - Stuben ski area, previously connected only with ski bus.
Ski Arlberg has 305 kilometres of ski slopes for every ski level plus another 200 km of ski routes, which are marked off-piste areas. With the Arlberg card, you can use all 88 lifts. They never feel too crowded because there is a limit for daily sales. As the top ski area in Austria, you will find the top of the notch of ski lifts here. Some of the chairlifts have under-seat heaters that will warm your frozen buttock!
Ski Arlberg slopes are divided into 43% of blue runs, 40%of red runs and 17% of black runs. Add to that the 200 km of ski routes, and we can definitely say that this is a ski area suited for advanced skiers.
Lech is more suited for beginners and intermediates in the Arlberg region than other resorts.
The ski Arlberg highest lift is Valluga 2, at the height of 2810 meters, leading to some crazy off-pistes. Still, for wise people, the ski area highest altitude is 2,644 meters at Valluga 1 gondola, and the lowest slope ends in Shrocken at the height of 1,266 meters above sea level
The ski season in Lech runs from the beginning of December until late April.
On the west front of the northern edge of the Alps, the Arlberg mountains are known for being the most snow-abundant ski area in the Alps.
The average annual snowfall in Lech is 8 meters. Zurs average
Is 10.5 meters, and the Warth-Shrocken area is the snowiest ski area in Europe, with an average of 10.7 meters.
The Tiroler side of the Arlberg is not far behind, with an annual average of 7 meters of snowfall.
Snow cannons cover 220km of pistes, equating to approximately 72% of Ski Arlberg runs.
You can find the best snow in the Ski Arlberg area on Rendl and Stuben north face.
The white ring which connects Lech, Zurs, Zug and Oberlech is a half-day challenge. It's a 22 km ski run and an altitude of 5,500 meters and is one of the world's famous ski circles.
If this is not enough, Ski Arlberg has the most extensive circle in the world, Run of Fame, with 85 km of runs and stretches from warth in the nort h, all the way to Rifflebahn 2 top station - The southern point of the Arlberg ski area.
If you are a fan of snow parks, then lech snow park has 20 obstacles accessible using the Schlegelkopf chair lift. In addition, you can find another snow park at the top of rendelbahn, in St Anton.
For on-mountain restaurants, we recommend Rud-Alpe and Schnegerei on Schlegelkopf slope, Der Wolf, between Petersboden express and Weibermahd lifts top stations. Last but not least, , on the top station of Zugerbergbahn, where the views are breathtaking, the vibe is good, and the food is delicious and served fast.
Lech is the only place in Austria that offers heli-ski. You can reach an off-piste trail via helicopter, with two different fantastic peak locations to choose from, including Mehlsack summit and Schneetäli-Orgelscharte. Heli-ski packages can easily be booked through the ski schools within Lech and can accommodate up to four people in one package.
As the Arlberg region has been the pioneer of ski schools, Lech has a variety of courses here. For example, six days x 4 hours adult group lesson costs 475€.
Advanced skiers can begin lessons any day.
For beginners and children, there is a designated separate area.
Best ski reviews on this platform by far, you keep me hyped for the season keep it up

Been to Lech many times...best all round resort about..great skiing..great vibe and doesnt have to be expensive.
Finally a new ski resort video!
Thank god you are back! Best reviews! lech is about to get 20 cm of snow tonight!!
good to hear. after all, we talk about the snowiest area in the Alps
As always, my best source of information on ski resorts. keep doing what you are doing!
Much appreciated!
Good Vid makes me determined to revisit. One omission if coming from Zurich (via airport) far easier to catch Ahlberg express bus than train and bus
Thanks for the tip!

my tip is to just book somewhere else in vorarlberg, and visit lech for a day as its not a affordable and even overpriced for what you get. many better pistes can be found not in lech.
Where would you recommend? St Anton?
@@chubuking good question, you could for example book your holiday at the sonnenkopf ski resort stay in dalaas, wald, braz, danofen. and then st anton is only a 25 minute drive from there. and a 18 min drive to Zürs.
great advise!
I went to Lech, St Anton & Ischgl last December. I would take Ischgl any day
Marco, keep the secrets for the locals. I left Europe a long time ago because of all this super greediness there. A Gruessle ins Laendle 🤓
Sehr schön

We stayed in Ilga Hotel in Oberlech, last year. If you book very early (beginning of September) the rates are quite good and Martin is amazing and extremely helpful! The snow quality was insane (last week of Jan) We are headed to San Cassiano in Alta Badia this year, very excited.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Regarding Alta Badia, we recommend you to watch our Alta Badia review:

As you sleep in San Cassiano you will want to see also our Cortina review:

First onr for the Season 😀 great work as usual.
Yay, thank you!
My family has been travelling to Lech for 50 years, it's like a second home. You have to book early, as more than half of all hotel rooms are reserved for regular guests in the high season.
Thanks for the tip!
There Back!!

Great content, love the videos but I do not see Lech on your website.
You are right, unfortunately i don't have the time this winter because i a m in a rush to finish editing other reviews but hopefully in one month Lech will be in the website. I appreciate you check our website
My frozen buttock is grateful for this review
😅
Can you please do zillertal arena
We will. It will be uploaded probably around November!
I wish i had the money to go to Oberlech...🙏
Pronounce it right please😂
Pretty sure the voice is text to speech.
It is Google text-to-speech, but trust me, many Brits Voiceover artists struggle with the Austrian names😅. From Bormio and Schladming's reviews on, we used 11 labs. I also learned that if the names are pronounced as the locals do, I get comments from Brits and vice versa. We are trying to be as precise as possible by using the pronunciation of the Google Translate of the word in the mother tongue and then feeding that recording to 11 labs.
