Vasili Perov | Russia's Extraordinary Realist Painter

One of the founding members of Peredvizhniki, a group of Russian realist painters the great Russian artist Vasily Perov was born in 1834, in the town of Tobolisk in today’s Siberia. One of the most prominent Russian realist artists of the 19th century, Vasily Perov died in 1882, leaving the legacy of more than 100 paintings portraying the souls and character of his contemporaries.
