    IS IT SAFE TO COME TO PUERTO VALLARTA IN 2023? One of our most asked questions is how safe Mexico is so we've decided to put a list together and tell y'all! On today's episode we're going over 5 things to know before travelling OR moving to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Although this list is Puerto Vallarta specific, some of the things can be generalized to all of Mexico. We're talking Weather, Seasons, Housing, Cost of living, safety, scams and a whole lot more!
    Puerto Vallarta is divided into several Colonias (neighbourhoods) and zones. There are around 50 Colonias in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta. In PV, like in every city, there are neighbourhoods to avoid - but in general, PV is regarded as one of the safest cities in Mexico for anyone to visit. Like in most cities petty crime is most common, such as pickpocketing, theft, and scams, and are most commonly found in tourist dense areas like the Malecon.
    Overall our experience in Puerto Vallarta has been nothing but pleasant with some important takeaways we wish we knew before coming here! Let us tell you about them.
    This is our journey!

      Better from someone on CZcams that lives here than the News no!?!? There’s no such thing as “late in the game”. Stop trying to gate-keep Mexico and act like you discovered it. Let people do exactly what they want. You’re in P.V - it’s sad you live in paradise and spend your time hating on people online lol

    Another thing to watch out for is not really a scam per ce, but something to be aware of: time wasters. The people in Mexico are so incredibly nice and polite, and so willing to please (and to make a sale, of course) that they would hardly ever tell you they ran out of stock on the exact item you want. They'll say anything and do anything to keep you in store, looking and buying, to avoid telling you they don't actually have what you came here for.

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  Před 11 měsíci

      Definitely! In the contrary they do sometimes go out of their way to be helpful when they didn’t need to 🙌🏼

  • @runnalls

    Cute video. I knew once you spelled Conchas Chinas incorrectly that you were either Americans or from Toronto. Jokes aside - when it comes to finding a property to rent here long term, avoid ANY AND ALL of the English written Facebook groups regarding long term rentals in Puerto Vallarta unless they specifically state they have a price cap that meets your budget criteria. Those groups have been purchased by Canadian real estate agents and developers and serve no purpose other than to price gouge the nieve consumer. People are far better off going to a neighborhood they like and collecting phone numbers of landlord. The price on rent in PV is ALWAYS negotiable when you deal directly with the owner and cut out the highly lucrative real estate agent.
    Puerto Vallarta is one of the most expensive cities in Mexico regardless of the neighborhood you pick… good luck people..

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching 😊 Absolutely 🔑 information. - the prices goes up significantly on those Facebook groups vs the Spanish groups or websites like manoamano.com. One of the things we noticed right away is the lack of consistency with prices for similar style units - rent or sale.
      Thank you for sharing and hopefully you share more tips on other videos ❤️

    The mustard trick! Hahahaha in Playa-del-Caca (opps Playa-del-Carmen) it happens quite regularity at the local Starbucks and Soriana. I see it's México WIDE. Getting curious about making a move to PV.

    Hey guys! I’m travelling to PVR in April for two weeks and staying in Centro. What tours would you actually recommend? And what are your top 3 must see areas OUTSIDE of PVR. We are planning to check out Sayulita and mismaloya already but still looking for more. Also from Canada! Specifically Whitehorse, Yukon

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks for watching! We haven’t done any official tours but areas to check out outside of PV I would say Boca de Tomatlan and water taxi to Yelapa, Any of the beaches on the southern coast (Conchas Chinas, Punta Negra, Palmares, Mismaloya) and Sayulita/San Pancho is a great one as well. We also really enjoyed de botanical gardens, great hiking and river, apparently the restaurant is top notch as well.

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  Před rokem +2

      Best places we’ve found for Puerto Vallarta graphic T-Shirts (as seen all over the malecon) is a store called Playeras Teñidas y Más on Colombia 1141 in Colonia 5 de Diciembre.
      Best place we’ve found for hats are local markets such as the Saturday market in Santa Maria area.
      Otherwise decent locations to buy souvenirs at better prices than the malecon would be on Calle Mexico in 5 de Diciembre (north of malecon)

Speaking on our experience we feel significantly safer here than in Toronto and have seen WAY less crime. The best we can all do is be smart and exercise caution regardless of the city you live in 👍🏼

    Great video. I'd love to know if P.V. has any internet options that offer not only fast download speeds but for me, more importantly would be fast UPLOAD speeds. For me to be able to visit for long-term or permanently, I'd need a very stable internet service that offers really fast upload/download speeds and that offers an option for UNLIMITED data. Just to be clear, I would consider something high speed if it's over 100mbps for both download and upload. If so can you please give me some contact info, thanks!

    • @Morelifediaries
      @Morelifediaries  Před 5 měsíci

      Thank you 😊 I honestly have no idea. Internet speed will definitely depend on where you live. At our old place we could not get Telmex which is apparently quicker because it used fibre optics so we have to get Total Play which is supposedly not as fast. That being said we never had any issues even with uploading videos. We’re current speed is at 47 mbps download and 50 mbps upload - not sure if that’s good or not but it’s good enough for us lol
