How can anyone say sound quality is bad? Just listen to the music and the sheer beauty of the performance. Note perfection from performer and the cracking instrument which Truls is playing. Wonderful spine tingling stuff equally as great as many other more revered cellists.
I think we have lost our definition of what good sound is because of the technology and the mics we've had over the years ... a mic will never capture real sound anyway no matter how good and expensive it is...
Nah, Truls's tone and intonation is impeccable, though Du Pre has more expression (a tradeoff). Personally, I prefer Du Pre's rendition when I want to hear a more intense tone, and Truls's otherwise
I discovered Truls Mørk today on YT. My God, what a brilliant cellist. Totally underrated he is.

@Bergsman100 Well, I'm listening with good earphones, and the sound isn't really great here... Of course the playing is fantastic, amazingly perfect.
