  • In the last couple of years, we are seeing that emission norms are getting strict day by day, which are making cars really expensive, and other than emission norms safety regulation and higher taxes are also playing a vital role in increasing the prices of vehicles,
But New Bs6 Phase 2 Norms will not only make cars further expensive but also due to this norm almost 17 cars will be discontinued
And this video we will deep dive into this very topic and will try to understand exactly why so many cars are getting discontinued in India

There is one thing that I would like Highlight. If I mainly talk about OBD and PGM, then here we should have mentioned motorcycles, as the significant impact of these two applications will be on motorcycles as cars are already equipped with these and will only receive advanced versions of Specially PGM for better efficiency, but these technologies are now forced upon two-wheelers after new norms which will significantly increase their prices.

@@akb14341 no way, I'm pretty sure the governments are funding those research. After all Alcohols are just hydrocarbons with -OH attached to it
The only real thing it does is reduce mileage and it overtime corrodes your cars because burning alcohol produces water + CO2
I don't really see the benefit of us forcefully buying adulterated petrol as they didn't even bother reducing the price and it's actually going up now. They either way produce lesser waste than electrical vehicles whose lithium-ion batteries create a lot more waste and because their performance isn't that good people replace it with lead batteries in series connection connecting like 4-5 lead batteries which is the worst. Lead batteries are recycled by hand even in the modern day. And if you don't realise heavy metal (lead) is toxic to every living organism in the world, global warming just warms the earth effecting some living beings (which can be avoided if you just plant more trees, we found way(s) to mend the ozone back, however it isn't revealed to the public but in the 1970s the ozone layer was pretty much like 60-70% depleted, no way we would have survived like that especially with a growing population then)

For example K10 engine is been used in several cars so upgrading it will have any meaning but upgrading the 800cc engine will not only increase the cost but also might become similar to K10 price
Even if Alto 800 and k 10 was on top list of highest selling hatchback combined for lot of months

and its not even big cities, I'm talking abou tier 2 cities like prayagraj where my college is.
Comparing bus to cars is not ideal as well, firstly most city busses are already using cng/lpg. secondly, bus carries equivalent to 10 cars or more (40+ pax). My hometown lucknow itself has just 260 city busses out of which 100+ are electric already. I can assure you, cars are above 2,60,000in number or more than 100x number of busses.
Yes, bus pollutes more than one car, but for all the busses to pollute more than all cars, one bus needs to pollute 100x more than 1 car which is simply not true. At worst, even a 20yo diesel bus will pollute only 3-4x as one car when talking about pollution per passenger.

@@superblaster7297 foreign companies are making a hue and cry because of the emission norms on top of taxes which makes the car very costly
Let me take your example of EU,they don't have exorbitant 28 or 43 or 50% taxes on cars,so it's to comply with the emission norms it's feasible, here we have such high taxes and now so many emission norms that it's very difficult to sell any car because cost increase is a lot
Also EU and USA have a type of middle class where everyone buys a car and upper middle and rich buy more expensive ones
Meanwhile India has a smaller market(although it's growing rapidly) where middle class can only buy a motorcycle and only upper middle and rich can think of buying a car
But now it's difficult for them to even purchase a car
With increase in prices, lesser people would buy cars

The only thing which can make them to sell foreign or rather better quality cars would be making domestic manufacturers to make their products more feature and tech laden and with better hardware only then these foreign buffoons can sell good tech and hardware laden cars on Indian shores,
Some examples you may ask, the Scorpion has definitely made some noise so much so that it punches above the segment not only in India but also in Australia, SA, and various African countries where the Toyota has their fair share in the market with Fortuner, it made them so much tensed that someone bought Scorpion and imported it to Japan for testing don't know if Mahindra present in Japan but some competitor is purely butt-hurt by Scorpion, some sources spotted that Mahindra Scorpion on Japanese trucks which was somewhat hidden and taken for testing or comparision,
