and even though i’ve personally never played Etterna myself, just from seeing different videos on CZcams of people playing it (most commonly Etienne… in the past), i have to agree that Etterna’s just overall better than osu!mania

I feel like Etterna's gameplay customization is miles ahead of osu in a lot of ways. And being able to change the rate of songs easily in etterna is so much more efficient instead of downloading the same map in osu for every rate increment was incredibly frustrating for me as well.

Etterna in my opinion is a far better option, because of the fair rating. Plus I can actually have fun in etterna with most the maps rather than what osu!mania has to offer ;~;

The main thing that I don't like about o!m is I can't find the right offset and speed I feel like I need AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D and RTX 4090 to run it without adjusting anything except the skin ...
While etterna I just need to adjust my scroll speed,adjust my scroll direction to downscroll,set the judge to judge 4 or 5 and call it a day.
We don't talk about 6K tho both are unplayable lmao.
It's kinda of a personal preference too. On my opinion, Etterna is easier to improve faster, and it's better game in general. However, osu! mania is older and has a way bigger community

Actually, Quaver has good features osu!mania should get, such as a free in-game downloader (it's paid on osu), beat color instead of column color and a free rates multiplayer.
I just felt like the input is different there and i can't really know why.

imo osu!mania ranked maps are either good maps or your generic ln map, thats why etterna better, also, beatmap nominators? strict map charting? why would you need that its so ridiculous js do what quaver does

I play both, I play Osumania more BUT if i get bored and wanna get rid of bad habits i just play Etterna instead, Etterna Got rid of my habit to manip Rolls and dump patterns, the only downside is after every Etterna session going back to osumania feels trippy
ngl i play mania and i just find etterna charts more enjoyable. i don't mind LNs, but the ranked section is only ever LN. would be nice if we could get more difficult rice charts. also, everyone can agree that o!m star rating is ass. LN inflates star rating significantly and all the actually difficult charts get placed a lot lower.

@@hallrules bc I started there and it holds a special place in my heart, btw for "fnf" I mainly mean funky friday on roblox, they made some 6* and even one that's around 7* with normal charting

Etterna literally has a help section in the menu that guides you through every single thing you would want to know, but no one knows it exists somehow. Plus it gives you starter packs if you don't know which ones to download, which is really helpful for beginners and o!m has no version of this. so yeah etterna has no downsides compared to osu mania really. flash flash revolution is better than both by a landslide anyway lol.

I play osu mania and have so for 2 years and I still don’t know how to download maps, at least not the ones I want. I found this map pack with 90gb worth of maps and I’ve just been rocking with that.

quaver is literally so bad, the game doesnt even have an offset adjustment feature that just works, its bad everytime

I'm getting tired with those LN abuse maps and tired with some of a very small amount of osu!mania players as well. Because they just consider LN haters as a skill issued player while those LN usages are totally not enjoyable. Let me be real. Just because I'm not good at LNs can't be a reason not to hate it, isn't it?
FFR is better because no LN :awesome: (jk, etterna is good and probably the best vsrg client)
I personally do like FFR too, it's a good alternative aside from etterna. What I still can't get the hang of is the hit timing cuz I am always off by a few milliseconds of what I usually play on

osu: here comes my "biased opinion" idk but when i got into it the only tutorial i needed for the game was getting a skin cause i didn't know where to find them and that's the only thing etterna got on idk but the fucking slop ass skins in eternas skin section is unbelievable so idk man osu is just so much more self explanatory and stuff and not messy and confusing and jumbled together and other stuff and idek at this point i might have repeated myself in 13 different ways i ain't reading this back

Etterna is a bit more complicaed but once u get used to it, everything is fun
the reason the website is like that i bcuz the old one got shutdown for the new one (and yes ur scores get wiped but if i remember correctly u can resubmit them)

Osu promotes more physicality gains because you go for s ranks, etterna is in no way stricter or harder, it’s literally that an aa is around a 97 on osu and people don’t know how to cancel cb rushes… the only reason you’d think etterna makes you improve “faster” is because of file variety but even then it’s so easy to find converts of them on Osu OR just convert them yourself
You will probably find more improvements on Osu than etterna physicality wise, etterna helps you make your scores “cleaner”

etterna promotes more physicality because of the stricter timing windows and the punishment you get for missing, getting okays or cbrushing. it forces you to get better physicality in order to reach AA, which might be the same as a 97 on osu, but it's just way harder
