Wellz was absolutely spot on. The second Kid went after Shanks fleet he sealed his own death. If he came to just fight shanks i dont think shanks would go this merciless on kids ass. Remember shanks said it in episode 4 too: u can spit on me or spill booze on me and most times i’ll laugh it off, but anyone who touches his friends has to pay.
Also "now that you've drawn your gun, put your life on the line" when Lucky Roo shot that Mountain bandit. More than a thousand episodes later, Kid became a victim of Shanks' old quotes.

Remember way back when we were introduced to Kidd, and he and his crew were known for their high number of civilian casualties?

the casualties were from people who laughed at his dream. he admitted this and stated he didn't pause. this was Luffy before Shanks told him it doesn't matter if people laugh at him.
Honestly idk why a lotta people were expecting Kid to stand a chance. It was Shanks' first "fight" in 25 years, he's the OG, Luffy's idol and one of Oda's favourites, basically a self-insert since Oda chose Shanks as the character who reflects himself the most. Once Kid started mowing down the fleet, everyone should've already started praying for his well-being. His fate was sealed in that moment, you could tell simply from how the episode itself was paced and structured.

Kidd was definitely feeling himself too much. Without Law, Kidd wasn't beating Big Mom. And even then she was still conscious when they beat her. This was the only conclusion to this fight.
To be fair, big mom's durability is off the charts. I dont know if shanks can walk off multiple of Law's Shock Willes like she did. Taking down a tank like her gave kidd confidence in his attack power, but he forgot Shanks has the most haki, battle IQ and agility of all the emperors. There's a reason why none of the other yonkos confront him directly, and Kidd wasnt ready for it
If we're going off based on winning, kid and law never really defeat big mom since she can still fight and laughing before she fell down.
But they did win the war since they utilized their abilities to bring down big mom to her doom.

This is an easy thing to disregard so I wouldn't blame anyone: even without futuresight, Shanks may have handled Kidd fine before his attack; Shanks could afford to be laid back at first because he knows he has it, and can rely on it to determine how involved to get. Without it, it's very possible he'd have been on high alert from the jump.

In order to fight shanks level future sight, you have to be able to see into the future yourself. That has to be the way to survive such immense power.
