Coming from a Titans fan, you’re absolutely right. There’s no question he’s talented and that wasn’t really the issue with the pick. there was so much WR talent in this draft and at that pick. Losing CD and jonnu both is a lot of production to replace and there was so many quality guys available. seemed like a huge missed opportunity. Some people are worried about a character issue from a GA guy because we’ve been burned before. thats from hopping to different agents and that’s just business. I can’t fault him for that. I like him though. He’s got a lot of potential to be a stud. excited to see what he can do.
rewatching this video in 2022 just because i don’t remember how good this dude is!! i mean i’m seeing guys like Smith n Kyle Pitts n Waddle, all three dudes that are rlly good playmakers and this guy can keep up with them. ofc over time things change but this vid rlly gives me hope n i do think he can still keep up with the best of them. Great video man! The first time I watched Monty Rice I knew he was getting drafted higher than people thought. The kid is an absolute stud with no real holes in his game. I think this was a great scouting job from the Titans- they likely had a WR queued up in the 3rd and just couldn’t pass on having a starting caliber ILB there. I’ll take Rice and Fitz over any WRs on the board at the point all day long. Keep up the great work! You’re adding great value to the Titans community.

Their defense is going to be legit this year and they can draft a receiver in the first round next year, at pick 32 😉🥲 or 2 depending how our new coordinators use the players. Just hope the offense doesn’t get boring again like before tannehill and Arthur took over.
I dont even think the negative is about drafting a Lb its drafting a player from Georgia. After drafting Wilson last brought a bad stigma. Just like Washington did after drafting Locker

Awesome video and my thoughts exactly why they picked rice was because next year brown prob won't be a titan and it's hard to find quality line backers like Jayon brown later on in the draft and they did exactly that with rice this year.

awesome work. he kinda looked meh at first glance cause he isnt moving very smooth which probably creates the narrative that he isnt very atlethic. sounds like hes the excatly what the Titans needed. Evans was terrible last year, dude was more out of position and flagged than making a play.
Also a lot of folks believe we are in a win now scenario with Tanny and Henry and they may not be wrong. So drafting now to save money years from now isn’t a good look if you are in that mind set.

I agree no one was upset we took him. It’s year we reached for him and still didn’t really fulfill our Wr/TE gap. Jrobs basically putting his job on this line this year. If the offense falls off, and let’s be real it’s going to at least some, and the this completely revamped D doesn’t pick up the slack Jrob and maybe Vrabel are good as gone.
