    I loved that the 72 set had the same names as prismas so that way for people who can’t afford prismas could still follow along on tutorials

    • @strimer9
      @strimer9 Před rokem +15

      I know. Not all of us can afford the full set of Prismas, and even the smaller 72-set is pricey, so it was really helpful that Arrtx had the Prisma names. Also, the majority of colour names Prisma has attached to their pencils are neither copyrighted nor original. It’s not plagiarism to call a pencil indigo blue or blush pink, so I don’t get being so defensive of a brand.

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před rokem +1

      Fair enough. My thing is I just like to see pencils branch out and be something unique to themselves rather than a carbon copy.

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před rokem +6

      I think you took my comment the wrong way, and never did I say plagiarism lol. What I meant was that I honestly prefer when company' are unique. I look at pencils as works of art themselves, so I hate when a company short sells themselves and copies names outright, especially from a single brand, but like I said in the video, when they released more, it seems they started branching out and not going from Prismas color line word-for-word, which was nice, because then it gives them something fun and unique. It's like alllll of those pastel sets out there that are carbon copies of Holbeins, including some that copy right down to the numbering system. It is more fun to see something unique and true to itself, especially when they are competing with a particular brand, than just a budget copied version. If that makes any sense. Wasn't me getting all up and arms for my Prismas. I just felt Arrtx should make it their own instead of try to be something else.

      @@ColorfullyOptimistic i think it was a good business strategy to present them as dupes to prismacolor pencils, since prismas aren't affordable for a lot of people outside the us. i also think budget alternatives, even if they are copies or maybe because they are copies, make a lot of people happy.

I have seen them swatched using the color order as listed on the carton That order just wasn't working for me but I lack the knowledge to be able to place them in correct order. I'm honestly still surprised you still enjoy prisma so much. Personally I've just gotten too tired of wildly varying quality and other issues. And they're nothing like they were before they off-shored, though honestly the quality has been sliding for a long time now.
    Edit: Also so many of their pigments aren't light fast. Honestly I started on them, and if they were still like my old set in high school I would keep using them. These recent batches I've just had too many issues. To each their own.

      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před rokem +4

      So, I'm surprised so many people have issues with Prismas. I only buy my open stock from Blick Arts and I have yet to have a single quality issue. I know the cheap defects sold on Amazon are flooding the market, but I don't buy those. True Prisma doesn't have super high lightfast (but they do have some), but this is adult coloring here. Adult coloring doesn't really need to worry about museum conditions because we aren't exactly selling commissions. Regardless, it is a bummer so many people have experienced quality issues, because I've used these for a long time myself and have not, but I think it is where you buy them? Not sure.

    I'm a Prisma fan as well but I am absolutely loving these "Prisma dupes" lol. Arrtx has done an awesome job with these pencil. They are not Prisma but they are a close second for me. Also I think Prisma discontinued colors Lavender and Lilac so I was actually happy that they copied those two pencils at the least 😆. I've been to every Hobby Lobby in my area but I can't seem to find replacements /open stock for those two Prisma colors.

    Really liked this review. I have not been tempted to buy this set. It seems that I have so many budget sets and some high end, and I use both. I can do lovely pictures with both. The difference is in the ease
    Of use. I typically only get sets now if thy offer something different or to replace what has worn down. Otherwise I am being the same thing over and over. But I am rethinking this one if I can use along side prismas and replace them less often

    they look beautiful! i'm waiting for my set to arrive. i don't know about a bigger set, but arrtx is planning to release a pastel set in the future. i don't use metallics, but i'm looking forward to the neon colours. i have a 48 set of prismacolor premier pencils, they are nice, but i wish i got a bigger set when the prices were reasonable. they got extremly expensive in germany, the 150 set costs 250 euro here. i can get a full set of polychromos (120) for 150 euro. i know that they are entirely different pencils, but the price is just too high when i compare them to other brands.

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před rokem

      Ah sad they are joining the pastel game. The market is oversaturated haha. But, their current 126 could benefit from some lighter colors, and if they are planning to release a pastel set, that would explain why the 126 were so bold and dark.

    • @agircekim
      @agircekim Před rokem +2

      @@ColorfullyOptimistic i don't understand, why is that sad? i think it's only logical since they would want to profit as much as they can. i like my brutfuner macarons, but if i like how the arrtx colored pencils lay down better, i would buy an arrtx pastel set too. i also have a small pack of holbein pencils, but i don't like them as much to buy more of them and it's also not in my budget.

    Hi, there’s a new set of Arrtx out, it is available as a 48 or 72 set. It’s about $10 cheaper than the blue box set. I just got my set. The pigments seem very fine and lay down well. I cannot say much at this point because I haven’t really used them to colour anything.
    BUT the box it comes in is so very cute. It has a flip cover held with magnets, when you flip the lid over you can then open it like a book. Stand it up and have all pencils available. Very very cute, a bit like the Karismacolor in the brown box but easier to handle. Oh, the box is white with a cut-out design and a beautiful pic of sunflowers.
    Edited to add….
    I get the feel of Staedler Design Journey or the Stabilo Original in pencil design, hexagonal form. But I can’t say if they perform equally well as either of those two.

      I am glad that you did a review on some Arrtx pencils with your comment, which is what I expected to see here. I felt like what I saw and heard was more like a very enthusiastic review of Prismas and their superior qualities. I agree that the portraits done with the Prismas were really beautiful and that this artist is very talented. About Arrtx: In other reviews I have heard that the quality of the 72 set of the Arrtx in laydow was better than the 126 set, but there are many different opinions, and I will be interested to see what is said in part 2 of this video.

      So the 72 count set comes in a blue box, but they are the round pencils and same formula as the ones here in the 126 set. Are you talking about a different set of pencils from them?

    • @CraftingMissAika
      @CraftingMissAika Před měsícem

      @@ColorfullyOptimisticThere is a "new" set, 48 and 72 only so far, that the box is white with the pencil count in color and some more spiral art on the front. They seem to be different from the blue and green boxes, I saw some say that the white box is their "premium" colors 🤔 I do not own any of these but since the 126 set is on my wishlist I would love a review of the white boxes.

      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před rokem

      I'm not sure I'd, personally, find Arteza close to Prisma. They don't feel like Prismas or work like them to me. However, we all use pencils so similarly, that we all see them differently depending on how we color :)

      @@ColorfullyOptimistic they're closest as in they're the softest. They're softer than the scholar line of prismacolor. You will NEVER get a budget pencil the same as premier, but also arteza has changed their recipe since their launch. That's why you find hit and miss reviews.
