குணா குகை முதன் முதலில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது கமல் அவர்கள்.அவர்யை கொண்டாமால் யார்யை கொண்டவது
story & screenplay of Guna (1991) was screenwriter from malayalam films - Sab John. cinematograper also from kerala - Venu. Kamal sir has many friends from malayalam industry like technicians & actors. Sab John said in old interview that kamal sir asked him to write a new script for his tamil film & that's how Guna started. First tamil film of Sab john as script writer. cinematographer Venu said that malayalam director Sibi Malayil was initially signed to direct this film but due to date issues he opted out. Later Kamal sir called santana bharathi to direct the film. Venu said in a malayalam interview that even though santana barathi was credited as director Kamal Hassan was the original director of the film. He chose the location. He took the initiative & helped in filming the scenes also inside the cave as it was not easy. Only because of kamal sir everything worked well. He said Guna was above average film but now it has become a hit. Sab John also wrote script for similar type of character of mentally challenged person but with different story line & plot for a malayalam film sooryamanasam (1991) starring Mamooty. The film was successful.

Prabakaran is a Malayali name..1 in 20 people will have this name. Before eelam issue nobody in Tamilnadu had that name (maybe Prabakar). That dialogue Dulquer used is from a famous old comedy Malayalam movie (before Prabhakaran became famous), it's used even today for memes. The only person spreading poison here is you sir. By your logic, how do Tamil directors show telugu people, as gangsters or idiots. So are Tamil people being racist? Even if you show a malayali as villan, nobody in Kerala will mind because people are educated enough to understand it's just a character. If you have politics, show it by helping people not by sending misinformation.🙏

yea I always thought it made no sense that some here were so strongly alleging that Dulquer did that to insult Prabharakan. Just makes no sense why he'd want to do that. Just that some of these bitter oldies passionate abt eelam cause, are forever mired in conspiratorial thinking (the fact that the prominent bureaucrats on our side were Malayalis when the war/ethnic cleaning happened in SL, doesn't help it!) I've heard of some deprecating portrayals of Tamils in old Malayalam films but nothing recently. Whatever said and done, I just don't see any reason for these basically sibling communities to be anything but close allies, and that's where we are rightly today, and we need to keep forces that may, out of ignorance and narrow mindedness, want to divide us, at bay.

Tamil people were never degraded in Malayalam cinema, I don't know what is there to be shown as degrading, because we are very similar people. But yes, for comic effect people have used Tamil characters the same way Malayali, Telugu, Hindi or foreign actors have been used in Tamil cinema. To me, showing Malayali women as sex objects is far more degrading.
