- In this video, I talk about the Loneliness and Harsh Reality of a Software Engineer's life. There are a lot of problems in a software engineer's life, and don't let just the high salaries fool you. Recently, a software engineer from Bangalore posted on reddit that he's earning around 60 lakhs per year with 3 years of experience but feels very lonely and saturated in life as he has no friends or girlfriend to spend time with. A lot of people feel the same, and I have tried to cover some of the reasons in this video.
Some of the things I have said are not to be taken seriously, and are just for entertainment :)

It is true in my case also ,I have cracked 5+ lpa job from Tier 3 college and worked there just for 3 months. Not able to find time to even spend one rupee in the 3 month salary ,I don't even like what I am doing , I realised myself that I don't have interest in the work and I don't felt happy at all. I came to software after hearing that I can make so much money but money without time is nothing and I am now into journey of getting class A officer in govt organisation , I hope I will get and like that job.
Don't choose the career based on stories of these MAANG company's salaries, if you don't enjoy your daily work then it will be daily hell , what is the use of earning in lakhs per month without being happy.
You have taken decision quickly and realized this. Unfortunately most of us are so used to this culture now that studying for another exam is difficult. All the Best to you

For that you have to try both..discover the skills and technical syllabus and try to understand...do projects in coding for 1 month if you get interest from one of those then take that.... I'm in MCA now here IT field reality is becoming scary..I myself thinking to leave this field. But you first try then decide...I have tried coding and I know I can't do this anymore

It still feels like first world problems to me, I mean sure, you should work on yourself and start putting yourself out there. No one's gonna come knocking to your room listening to you whine about loneliness. Biggest flaw of that Bangalore guy's post is he thinks he has no girlfriend and he's missing out on life. First of all I don't get the hype behind having a GF. HAVING A GF ISN'T A ONE STOP SOLUTION, TRUST ME GUYS. Having a bad partner sucks even more the being alone. Life is a nightmare if you don't enjoy your own company. The films have glorified the idea that being in a relationship sucks out your sadness and loneliness, real life is very very different. If you want your life to be a kickass, you have to go out there, don't expect that someone will come to you. You gotta enjoy the little things in life man.

Money is not everything in life. Health is more important. Human eyes are not made to look at screen for 8 hours. Its Harsh reality. And as the time passes you get back pain, headache, low eyesight and other health issues.
As a software developer from last 8 years , I can say whatever he said is 💯 percent true.

These are the kind of things people say when they never faced real struggle in life, so a simple and struggle less life seems "lonely" and "monotonous" to them, but in reality, leading such a life is the goal of millions.
True, but loneliness is a real issue .however people can rid from it through money if they know how to use it.
No social life, no female interaction, you started feeling like a slave robot who work while taking, who work while eating and work while sleeping.

another big issue of fresher software engineer is feel vasilating to choose domain because there are too many domain in SE which very difficult to stay one domain (Application developer , web developer , data science , big data , c++, python , java and too many tech stack )

There are some people of my category too. I deliberately dress like that so that I don't draw too much attention to myself. If you start getting attention in workplace, it means you will be loaded with work. So, it is better to stay in the crowd.
If I were to draw attention to myself, I would dress my best and just kick everyone's asses like that. I am very competitive in that sense. However, I have to be like an undercover spy so that I don't draw too much attention because most Indian workplaces are toxic. And the only way to survive there is to not stand out.

@@ajeetp470 he has 2.9 years of experience so he is most likely an sde2 who gets 50+ lpa ( 50 lpa including 1 one year stock not 4/5 year stock). His base salary would be around 30-40 lpa so after taxes he would get 2-2.5 lakh in hand per month and rest stocks. Those 50lakh packages with 4/5 years stocks are given to freshers by faang for sde1 roles not experienced candidates (sde2 and up). You need to do more research about salary.

Then you don't know reality...I have example in my relatives, he is software engineer and he even don't get time to enjoy and spend money for a while....only those software engineers enjoys who are either a senior developer or consultant/negotiator who don't work from scratch.
