This is Part 1 of my interview, in Part 2 we tour Joe's workshop, don't miss it!!
#audiophile #hornspeakers #DIYaudio - Zábava
Surely I'm not the only person yelling "Turn it on!"?
I wanna see the grin on his face as the sound fills the room 😊
Part 2: Joe plays King Tubby records for the whole video
@@tedfitz8824 BWAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! Fuck, I have a King Tubby record..
I wanna be there and put on London Grammar`s Rooting For You or maybe some Wolf Alice or eeh, well anything, I just wanna be there hehe xD
@@RobotronR6 if you want to listen to good dub King Tubby is the wrong artist IMHO.
@@pekkatiira i dont know what good dub is, can you show me the way?
Im going to bookmark this and pull it out when my wife thinks Ive gone to far with my audio obsession.
Hope that works for you !!!!
Joe
@@josephbulger7302 that's quite the DIY system Sir! I am working on some DIY speakers myself. Using some 2nd hand klipsch horns to build myself some "Clonewall's". Your system makes me feel like a rank amateur though.
The "I`m not so bad, look at THIS guy" excuse has served me well many times ;)
@@afrog2666 I am glad it works for you !!!
Joe
@@afrog2666 worked well for me with headphones.. for a while... now I have such a collection I think I'm the guy that other people are showing to their wives
I hope this guy never decides to use his powers for evil.

Evil people will always find a way to vent their twisted rage by any means at their disposal. I am totally on the opposit side of the fence and would stop them at all cost, just like the 21 yrs. I served this city as an NYPD officer. Peace, love, and audio is my motto !!.
Joe
It’s such a joy to watch a man in his element. He’s like a kid. I love it!
A rather old kid but young at heart !!!
I'm Speechless..i would travel to the reaches of the continent and pay admission just to hear his system.
No admission fee, just a trip to Greenpoint Brooklyn !!!
@@josephbulger7302 I'm looking up flights
@@josephbulger7302 hi, Joe. Please update and make new videos on your CZcams channel! Man, you're the best!
Wow thats a good idea I am curious to hear this system
I like that Joe went “over” someone’s house in California. That’s beautiful. This is what happens when you leave guys alone to do what they want. Impressive system. Great interview!
You need to understand the New York City language that Joe speaks. Joe is a classic NYC guy.
Mike H Oh yeah, he’s great. A real New Yorker. I lived in NYC for 10 years. I love that place and the people.
Michael Margiotta Joe says in the beginning that he went over to the doctor’s (Dr’s) house in California to learn about the speaker design.
NY colloquialism.
@W N dr Hsu right? yeah it's gotta be. i got one of his subwoofers in my living room
Sierra brooks horns :)boy it feels so good seeing something we build near 20 yrs ago used in the heart (midrange horn) of this awesome system.
Thank you !!!
Joe
It had been ages since i'd heard that name and a lot of memories came flooding back. Always wanted the big 80 or 100hz one
Wow, that's got to be the most elaborate DIY system I've seen. The room construction is awesome as well. Great job!
Thank you for your nice comments.
Joe
This dude is fckn cool! Love people that build stuff like this.
3 minutes in and I already love this guy's ingenuity.
Looking forward to part two 😄
Thank you !!
Joe
This is the best video you’ve done of someone’s system. What a lovely guy
Love Them All but when you can build your own stuff , awesome 💯👍
Thank you for your kind words,
Joe
@@josephbulger7302 Super - just super - the joy of creation shows in your words.
I think that the ability to imagine something that is "not there", and by thinking and design and hard work to make it exist, is the closest to magic and metaphysics we'll ever get.
Couple days after Christmas now; can't wait to get back home and into my shop.
"...and this goes from 10 kHz up to bat territory..."
I like that description.
This man is living his best life 👍
NYPD Pensions are among the highest in the World. Better than Cali's CALPERS.
Joe's knowledge and passion are inspiring!!! With his attention to every aspect of the system and the room, I would guess that Joe's system rivals the best in the world. All I can say is AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your creation!
Thank you for your kind comments.
Joe
I could have many enjoyable beers with that fella. In fact it's doesn't even matter if he doesn't drink, I'll drink enough for two... I'll do my best anyway.
he's probably a bourbon guy, 😉
Don’t miss part 2 with Joe!
How does Joe's system sound, Steve?!
This is in an apartment? How can you crank this up? Joe needs to move into a house!
oh I'm using my patience almost at limit! give us that video! (great video, thks
)
Thank you... :)
Hey can you AirBNB with Joe to hear his speakers? Does he do tours?
These two videos are amazing. Joe is amazing! Here's a retired police officer who based on and tied to his incredible audio passion developed skills that transformed him into a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer in his own right! This proves that if you really care about something and you're willing to learn, you can do anything! Very inspirational. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed turntable once it's fully operational!
Thank you for your kind comments.
@@josephbulger7302 hey Joe the amount of knowledge and love that you obviously put into this is awesome! Hope you're enjoying it! Love seeing all the engineering principles and knowledge you picked up
This was all very interesting. I appreciate Joes attention to every detail. Thank you both for sharing.
This is by far your best interview in most part due to Joe, what a legend and please do more with this guy!
Thank you for your kind comment.
He's the most complete audiophile that I've seen when you can pick all your gear and build your own speakers from scratch including picking the drivers and crossovers what do you want what kind thanks for the video Steve. 💯🔈🔉🔊🔊
Thank you.
Joe
Incredible. Simply incredible! I’m speechless by his ingenuity. Bravo!!!
Thank you for your kind words.

This guy is so much fun. Thanks for bringing us this video, Steve.

Me eather cause I'LL be over there till he kicks me out,😂🤣🔈🔉🔊💯
Tc sounds, those are some amazing subs. I like this guy. You can tell these speakers are his passion, this guy probably absolutely loves his system.and talk about room treatment! Thanks for your Service Joe!
Brilliant. He reminds me of PC Dibble from Top Cat. One of the best technically savvy audiophiles I have ever seen. Even Steve is quiet lol.
I thought he sounded familiar but was thinking of either one of the blues brothers or maybe one of the mafia on the Simpsons but the guy from Top Cat fits it better
amazing.all my respect to this man for all the passion and the work to build that special system
Thank you for your kind comment !!!
Joe
Thanks, Steve...I love this guy’s enthusiasm and humility.
Cheers to you, Joe
Thank you for your kind comments !!

Incredible system! Thanks for sharing Joe.
Amazing just freaking amazing. I am a DIY’er my self but this man has a HOBBY. Good for him.
Thank you for your kind words.

This video made me really happy. This guy is so passionate and dedicated. What a great video.
Making the system was a lot of work, but very rewarding.

I am so very impressed! Thanks for this Joe! You are now one of my new heroes! DIY is the way to go!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
An audiophile of great courage! An audiophile to be greatly admired. My best to you, Joe.
You comments are much appreciated !!!
Joe
The 'retired police officer' part blew me away. I don't think our country can afford to have talented people like Joe retire, looks very much in his prime to me:) I hope Joe has many more years to enjoy his hobby, and I wish him all the best.
thank you for your very kind comments. Much appreciated !!
Joe
Um was his talent being a police officer?

This is definitely one of the most impressive DIY systems I`ve ever seen, fantastic stuff!

Huge respect to this guy!
I find it genuinely moving seeing and listening to someone like Joe showing and explaining the details of something so beautiful that they've conceived, designed and built.
The guy is a diamond and so is his system.
Thank you very much for your kind comments !!!
Steve, thanks for accepting Joe's offer to visit his place. That turned out to be a great video. Thats was so interesting. I'm sure there's more stuff we could learn from him.
The sound isolation of the room is even more impressive than the system.
This guy's version of not being rich is way different than my version of not being rich.
@33Ddg209Ret7 If he was a beat cop, he was crooked.
He said he wasn't rich. He didn't say he was poor.
Loved it!!! Thx Joe and Steve!!!
Craziest Hi-Fi-setup I’ve ever seen! Also the way he explains everything is so accurate and amazing to listen to!
Thank you for your kind comments.
Wow, that’s dedication to the art 👍
One word: Wow!
That's three words Michael

How can you not love this guys passion and making the time and effort to do something about it!

Joe = True audiophile, another great video Steve
That is the Craziest system I have ever seen. There is so much money in the house, and system. I want one just like that one someday.
Thank you. Everything is much easier to make when you start with an empty house.
Joe
Amazing system Joe. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the inspiration!
This is a great presentation. Such a high level of commitment to the art and Joe is one of those special people. A great inspiration.
Thank you for your positive comments.
Joe
Amazing guy, wish we had about 20 more hours of listening to him.
The question is: When will there be a review of his sound system?
Yes we need That Steve 🤔
Yes, I want to know, how does it sound? ?!!
Horns have no bass, and sound, well... horn-y.
@@hifiguy10 I think those four 18" subs might beg to differ with you.
evilwoodchuck then 10 18” speakers would be even better, right? This is a glorified PA system.
This is one of the best Horn system I've ever seen. Probably thee best! I love horns myself... something about them that make it feel like the artist is right there singing in the room. I hope we can see a video of these playing music, that would be amazing! Great video Steve and Joe! Joe is forever a legend in the audio world for this setup! Amazing!
Rusty, Thank you for your positive comments !!!!

This is such a well thought out and executed setup, from the speakers to the sound treatments. An absolutely amazing space. I have a newfound respect for horns. Thanks, Joe.. and Steve.

I've never felt so unworthy. Just amazing.
I am too as good as my system make be I tell my friends these real audiophile wires cost more than my system.🤪
Don't feel unworthy Jeff! We all learn from the masters over time.
Jeff, I was not born with this talent, it was nurtured by desire and love of music. I was fortunate to have lots of like minded friends who helped me along the way. Never feel unworthy !!!

I wish you long and healthy life Joe.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for your kind words. Same back to you !!!

I'd like to comment but man words can't describe this system
Nope every detail , amazing really,💯👍
Glad you appreciate all the work, it was definately worth it !!

Looking at an impressive speaker system is like listening to a Picasso painting.
The sound proofing of the walls is incredible. The room acoustics is amazing also.
Thank you for you nice comments.
Oh wow what a wonderful job he has done !! Brilliant! I bet it sounds fantastic there's nothing that sounds like big horns. Just gotta get my wife on board. Or overboard if we take a cruise somewhere, then I can do this.
This guy is a legend. I would pay for plane tickets to hear these monsters.
No money necessary. If you make it to Greenpoint, Brooklyn you would be welcome for a listen.
Joe
Steve and Joe, you've broke the comment section, and our minds with this one!
Thank you for your kind words. Peace.

This is too cool. I remember meeting Joe and his lovely wife a few years back at the Newport Beach show. I was invited out to dinner by our mutual friend Jeffrey at HWS and they had accompanied him out for the show. They couldn't have been more gracious and affable. Truly wonderful people. Thanks for making this video, Steve!
Thanks for your kind comments. I miss the shows, and the nice people we have met over the years. This virus has caused everyone much grief.
Amazing system Joe...Bet it sounds fantastic !!
Unbelievable! And Joe is in the lead, by a mile!
Bellissimo!!!!!!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing, Joe! Amazing!
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching !!!
Just WOW Steve! This is probably your best video yet! Joe is a shining example of an audiophile's unique dedication and passion to his 'hobby'! I wouldn't be surprised if he is also an avid Ham Radio (Amateur Radio) enthusiast and tinkerer, given those presumably great 'homebrew' speakers! I hope to god that there will be a forthcoming video where we at least attempt to hear them (even with the limitations of CZcams and our PC speakers, headphones, etc.)! Thank you Joe and Steve.
You nice comments are much appreciated !!!
Joe
I'm scared for my future... 🤣
Wow.
Got something to aim for now. :)

F*** me. Joe is living my dream and his own. I wish to convey my complete and utmost respect to Joe. He has made my thoughts of building a few bits and pieces of HiFi dwindle to nothing. I love his skills and modesty that comes with everything. JOE YOU ROCK.
Joe is the epitomy of self-taught, do-it-yourself enthusiasts and hobbyists! Even though he is not a NASA scientists or speaker designer engineer, he obviously learned all this and figured it out, presumably by himself! Mega respects go out to him for sure! Nice comment.
Thank you for you kind comments. I did a lot of listening, asked lots of questions, did lots of research, and lucky to have met the right people for guidance. You have to add your time and skills.
