His “Bol Taan” are unmatched, unblemished and rendered with such a great ease. My god. He was a gifted artist. Very unfortunately all of us lost him too early.
I was fortunate enough to attend Sawai Gandharva Festival, when Amir Khansaab presented raga Charukeshi year 1973.
Lalit:
चरन तक आऊं
आया हूं दरबार निज़ामी
साचो पीर निज़ामुद्दिन औलिया
जो मांगूं सो पाऊं
Charukeshi:
लाज रखो तुम मोरी गुसैया
लाज रखो तुम मोरी
ध्यान धरूं और लागूं पैया
तुम्हरी माया के ढंग न्यारे
दुखियन के एक तुमही सहारे

Bhatiyar:
निस दिन नाही बिसरत मूरत मुरारी

What an effortless change from Lalit to charukeshi...Sudden stop and start... Awesome, but the Lalit gets completely washed out...That urge to listen Lalit again.. Remains
As far as I am aware, it was one of Khan sahib's live concerts at the Sadarang Music Conference in Calcutta around 1962-3, accompanied by Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh on the harmonium and UIstad Keramatulla Khan sahib on the tabla. I must have been in attendance, as I seem to recall the concert clearly.
Respectfully: perhaps it was Shyamal Bose on the tabla. In Calcutta, Acharya Amir Khan always preferred to have the Great Shyamal Bose on the tabla.
