  • The Fiat Panda City Cross is an urban-focused two-wheel drive version of the much admired 4x4 Fiat Panda Cross. It comes with a 70bhp 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine, which can achieve 51.4mpg
The car gets the same crossover-like styling as the 4x4 Panda Cross, with chunky black plastic cladding that extends from the headlights, over the wheel arches to the rear bumper. It also gets the same 15in rims.Fiat has introduced two new colours, a pastel Grey, like the car we are testing in this video and an Electronica Blue, both of which are exclusive to the model.

I have the panda cross 1.3 diesel and the first thing I did was buy a spare wheel which cost around £100 as I absolutely hate those gunk kits. Then over where the spare wheel goes I cut a piece of ply board to fit so as to have a solid base for dog. I’ve had mine for about a year now and it’s on a 2015 plate and it hasn’t even done 18,000 miles and I love it the little thing but when I first got it some people in the village laughed at it especially one snob who has a Range Rover but he wasn’t laughing as I drove past him as he struggled to get grip during the last snow we had, I felt like giving him the finger as I left him stuck on the bank! These panda 4x4’s are like little mountain goats as they are so sure footed and in my experience never get stuck.

    Excellent overview!
The one good thing about the Panda, it's very versatile, it can be any car you want it to be, it can be your 2nd car, family run around, school run car, weekend adventure car, shopping car, work car, moving stuff car, commuting car, city car etc etc
I really enjoy driving our 4x4 Panda, it's a lot of fun, very nimble and agile even though it only has the little 875cc 2 cylinder twinair engine.
Overall very practicle and very economical to run and own, tons of Italian style and loads of unique character.😎👍

The fewer the electric gizmos, the smaller it's CO2 footprint and less things to go wrong. My mate bought an Audio 6 Quattro - 3 year depreciation is horrendous and when the car's computer motherboard failed the repair cost him €4,800. A lot to be said for simple and uncomplicated transport.

My friend's brother has a new Mercedes and the dash packed up. They can't fix it and are buying the car back from him. Not sure if this is due to micro-chip shortage. He is losing £11,000 after a year of ownership. People moan about them, but my Alfas seldom let me down.

I love Pandas - I have a 2017 4x4 Cross TwinAir - just as brilliant except not as economical as this one. BTW, I'm a bass player and I have an equally funky MarkBass 2x10" speaker cabinet and a MarkBass 500W amplifier. All this gear fits neatly in the boot space and the parcel shelf hides it away from prying eyes. That's what the shelf is for IMHO.

I'm thinking of buying a Cross twinair, I've read the mpg isn't as good as stated. What are you getting and what sort of driving do you do? My commute is a mix of town and 50mph roads.

@@AR-zr1om I sold my Panda last year (because I left France) a very sad day 😭.
So I can't totally remember. I mostly drove very short trips with some ridiculous hills. It was about 38mpg as I remember. But on run like Briançon to Turin I could get nearly 50mpg. A truly brilliant car though. I miss it badly.

Thanks for a good entertaining review . This car may not give Tesla or Audi etc. any worries but it does have a quirky appeal, and as you say, for the money , you can't complain . Regards Kieron

People here seems to be obsesssed with safety. Safety should be tackled by increasingly draconian rules on speed limits and other aspects of driving, rather than by puting people travelling in tanks. By the way these "tanks" (SUVs, crossovers, pick-ups and so on) are drangerous for pedrestians, cyclists and others who also deserve safety

why do people doing tests on cars throw the parcel shelf at some point the car goes back and will proberly be sold. its a test car and should be looked after. people want to see what the car does and not to see new car parts being thrown away. you wouldnt do it to your own car.
