I've been going through all the Abbott & Costello movies and I've really gotten hooked on this song. I wrote out the lyrics for my mother and I figured I'd stick those here too. Thanks so much to Sahaza for posting such a good copy of this song. I used to be most capable of keeping a conversation, I never ever faltered in my pronunciation My speech was quite as flawless as could be, But … What did you do, yes, what did you do to me? No bout adout it, I mean no doubt about it, I’m in love with you. No bout adout it, I mean no doubt about it, What I say is true. You’re driving me insane, My talk’s affected, I jumble every line. ‘Cause something in my brain Got disconnected When your lips connected With mine. No fool I’m feeling, I mean, no feel I’m foolin’ like a kid up to … I sove you low much, I mean I love you so much What am I to do? I feel I’ll never walk straight, You got me so I just can’t talk straight. No bout adout it, I mean no doubt about it, I’m in love with you. My train of thought went clickety-clack It had a terrific smack-up You’ve gone and knocked it off of the track And I just can’t get it back up. I put my shoes on the pillow, Go to sleep on the floor, I wind up the cat, put out the clock, And do things I never did before. And ever since we met I prattle, Like an itsy bitsy baby with a rattle. No fool I’m feelin’, I mean, no feel I’m foolin’ like a kid up to. I sove you low much, I mean I love you so much What am I to do? I feel I’ll never walk straight You got me so I just can’t talk straight. No bout adout it, I mean no doubt about it, ‘Cause you’re larvelous, marvelous Funderwul, wonderful, I merely reen it, I really mean it, No bout adout it, I mean no doubt about it, I’m in love with you!
She sadly never rally got the recognition that her sister had. Thought of more as a band singer, unlike Betty who was of a solo entertainer and for a short time a movie star. Great stuff.
Actually, in the early to mid forties, Marion was far more popular than her little sister. The Glenn Miller Band was the most popular band in the world at the time and Marion was a huge part of that. The GM records she sang on were mostly big sellers. Eventually though, she gave up her movie career. Studios didn't want another comedic blonde actress because Betty was now one of the top box office stars in Hollywood!

This song lives rent free in my head for some unknown reason..
Is there a more disarming smile than the beautiful Marion. Her eyes smile as much as her lips.
I sang this song to my girlfriend over 40 years ago. I changed some words and she loved it 💗
My Dad, RIP(who was in the Navy during The War) enjoyed this song.....😔
She was so pretty
I'm surprised they never released this song as a single on a vinyl record. It's a really good song!

I used to be most capable of keeping a conversation,
I never ever faltered in my pronunciation
My speech was quite as flawless as could be,
But …
What did you do, yes, what did you do to me?
No bout adout it,
I mean no doubt about it,
I’m in love with you.
No bout adout it,
I mean no doubt about it,
What I say is true.
You’re driving me insane,
My talk’s affected,
I jumble every line.
‘Cause something in my brain
Got disconnected
When your lips connected
With mine.
No fool I’m feeling,
I mean, no feel I’m foolin’ like a kid up to …
I sove you low much,
I mean I love you so much
What am I to do?
I feel I’ll never walk straight,
You got me so I just can’t talk straight.
No bout adout it,
I mean no doubt about it,
I’m in love with you.
My train of thought went clickety-clack
It had a terrific smack-up
You’ve gone and knocked it off of the track
And I just can’t get it back up.

Go to sleep on the floor,

‘Cause you’re larvelous, marvelous

I love this cute song performed by Marion Hutton. She has such a great voice. Thanks for posting.
Terrific; can just about hear sister Betty doing this number well as well.
She’s gorgeous. Catchy tune 🇺🇸
From "In Society" (1944)
Marion was never my favorite B.B. singing canary, but here, she's just great!
No Doubt about it, this is perfection.
I think it would have been a struggle to get twenty-four month old baby into the lyrics so I'm glad they settled for "Kid of Two"
If you think your grand children don't need to listen to your retro music, guess again. Just play all your records and cassettes.
