    A couple of years ago, I watched THIS video and it was THIS video that inspired me to purchase my 1995 Ducati 900ss. Thank you for creating this video!

    If it's jerky riding at low speeds it's probably because the pilot jet is too small. I've had a couple 900's and they were notoriously jetted lean from the factory to meet U.S. emissions standards. The European spec bikes came with a 42.5 pilot which is what I've put in all of mine and they run sooo much better here at sea level. My first was a yellow '98 CR I bought new. When I left the dealer I couldn't believe they could sell a bike like that. It was unrideable under 3,000 rpm. Check yours, it's not hard at all and well worth the time to replace it. Makes it like a different bike.

    Awesome video, i just love the way you've made that bike your own. Congrats on 200 subs!

    The biggest difference between the SS and the CR (yes, Ducati called it the "cafe racer", maybe informally, here in the states) was the steel swing arm on the CR (ally on the SS) and the SS had an adjustable fork. CR's had a slightly narrower rear rim also. We had quite a few half faired SS's come through the shop, early SS's came both ways. A lot of people prefer to have that lovely engine on full display.

    I like that aftermarket seat. I have a 1993 900SS that I bought in 2014. I've only grown to appreciate the bike more over the years.

    39 teeth for rear sprocket is ideal for that bike. Also look into switching out for Kehin flat slide carbs. This will improve slow speed rideability as well as performance. Eventually maybe a wider rear rim like on SP model.

    Greetings from Denmark! Cool video and review of your bike and the Ducati Supersport. I am the happy owner of a 1994 900 supersport. Love the bike, love the design. And as you pointed out - the design is timeless. There is just an enduring beauty of this bike. Also, I might change the rear sprocket from 37 to 42/43. Same reason as you. Topspeed not interesting. Handling and throttle response is the interesting part.

    Nice video and congrats on the nice bike! (As you can see from my avatar I am biased) I had mine for 10 years before I sold it around 2003. Still regret it. I had a 1991 SS version with a drilled clutch cover worked on by Baines Racing in the UK. When I sold it with 32,000 miles on the clock it still ran the same clutch from 10 years prior.

    Good little video and just a little surprising that someone your age would take to a 95 900SS? You'll probably be influencing a generation now lol and I would expand my knowledge base. ATGATT, that's the way to roll!!

  • @sjorswouda6865
    @sjorswouda6865 Před rokem

    CR stands for CaRenata - full fairing version.
    Half fairing is called Nuda.
    Both are SS - Super Sport
    In Europe both versions (900) have alu swing arm & twin front disc.
    600 / 750 have steel swing arm and single disc up front.
    The brand Ducati has nothing to do with cafe racers..................

    Nice Review...Ducati geared them high so at 4000rpm with the air cooled engine, dry clutch combination they meet US noise regulations. The second generation Supersports are becoming harder to find, a bargain at $3500;to $5500 for a nice one......if you can find one.

  • @lamberko
    @lamberko Před 4 lety

    Can it be your front tire runs in the wrong direction?
    The rainwater should run from the tire's middle to the left and right side. The way you've mounted the tire, the water will run from the left and right to the middle, and the tire will swim or surf.
    I'm not sure, but from my point of view the tire should run (or turn around) in the opposite direction.
    🤔

    This is my first motorcycle I baught maybe 2 years ago. I put some 150 simple miles on it.
    I haven't used it since. Truly I'm scared of it and my skills are really not that good. I already dropped it on a simple sharp u-turn to park it and stopped too quickly. It quickly fell over. I was doing less then 1 mph. I did a $200 repair on it.
    It's too bad its just sitting in my back yard. I feel for it

    • @amcrchannel6045

      Sorry to hear about that! My best advice for you is to practice your slow speed turning in a parking lot and try to be calm. Best of luck

      @@amcrchannel6045 Yea for sure thanks! I just did major work on it myself and basically revived the bike. Including carb rebuilt, timing belts, ignition coils, clutch parts and what not. Taking my time on it and learning to ride.
      Thanks for the reply.

    • @siraff4461
      @siraff4461 Před 5 lety

      @@U2Jaime1317 These things have terrible steering lock. You really do need to practice to get used to it. Before you try doing feet up U-turns take it to a big empty space and just practice walking it on full lock each way. That will give you an idea of where it's going to start to fall if you try to go tighter.
      It's worth it though. Once you're used to it these things are awesome rides.

      I’m in a similar boat. I have a 1999 CBR900RR and I’m a total beginner. I also have a gentleman trying to trade me a 2001 Ducati 900SS for my Fireblade, hence why I’m here.
      Try twisting your wrist all the way down as if you had a whiskey grip on the throttle. This helps keep the bike at a manageable speed while you practice.
