Some corrections that you guys have pointed out: Projectiles CAN be reflected at level 3, however they stop leveling up at 3 (side note: z dropped projectiles reset their level) You CAN wavedash out of shield, you are just unable to use the jump+air dash macro when you are in shield.
We also know that this rock/paper/scissors mechanic with the Strong Attacks is also there in the air strongs thanks to Ren and Stimpy's gameplay. At first I was worried that Aerial Down Strongs would be busted due to their easy killing and edgeguarding potential, but if the punishment for an Air Down Strong hitting an Air Up Strong is a shield break like animation as it appears to be, it makes the whole thing very "high risk high reward" like.
This is a super helpful guide! And after watching MockRock’s video on zoners, this game’s projectile interactions just seem like a direct call out to Smash’s lol.
I feel like people overexaggerate how good/bad this game's going to be, as you said it looks like it should be a lot of fun! A lot more people probably know who spongebob is compared to somebody like richter or even more popular characters, so there should be a good audience for it, and although I might not get it for a bit I'm certainly excited for it to come out
You can wavedash out of block devs confirmed that you can jump or attack instantly out of block. The only restriction is that there is a 15 frame lock out for running or putting up your block again after dropping your block
I had to reread the devs comments about wavedashing, since I definitely misunderstood it. You're right, it seems you can wavedash OOS, but you are unable to use the macro of inputting both at the same time since you would already be holding shield.
I got the game and since i play ALOT of smash, i just made the controls identical to my smash layout and got a hang of it in less than an few hours, it's really similar

Seems a bit lopsided (and this imbalance was even worse in Smash 64 with the smaller amount of projectile moves overall).

Actually the projectile can keep getting reflected but it just doesn’t power up beyond level 3.
It can also be z-dropped to reset its level back to 0
