Gutted this morning to find out what happend over night, with a loss of one of my winter grow on fish, not the best of videos but it the kind of thing that can happen within this hobby

So sorry to hear your news today Gaz , it's really sad when you loose a fish but you had double trouble today with the poor newt i know our ponds look better without a net but spring through to early summer brings more wildlife to our gardens best be safe than sorry 🧓

Koi masters advantage stabilise pH and boost kH at 100g per 3785 litres so would have been interesting to see just adding that would that have brought your kh and ph back up. Great vid mate
Nice copy and paste 😂 Mr humber koi, but I add the bicarbonate to raise my ph not to stabilise it, but now I have added it it should therefore in theory stabilise it at the right ammount too🤞🤞
Aw bummer man. Try a coaster or towel over the hole. I use a towel over the back where the lid doesn't shut properly. there's something about a linear fish I've a soft spot for. You can't help the wildlife losses, had that myself. including hedgehogs one of the reasons I went raised pond.
Can not cover the hole mate it’s the feeding hole underneath the hud so just a shit bit of bad luck mate it’s happens!

Gutted for you Gaz. I know how you feel I lost my favourite, and biggest Koi over winter.
It’s not till you start talking about losing one, until you start getting told of other people that have lost their too

yeah it was only a small one mate but it had a very good scale pattern zip and lateral was perfect gutted bud
What a shame always the best ones that you lose first ain't it, and hope your pond fish will pop after koi masters advantage treatment

I lost my 20 inch koi today .found him when i started pumps and filters back up gutted.i feel for you buddy

@@GazsKoiPond thank you .yes I turn off all pumps and filters in winter just leave air stones on have for 20; years just one of those things probably
Real shame about that linear bud but it’s no problem I’ve got plenty more identical ones incidentally the mukashi ogon with the rolled gills was not one of mine but one I’d bought from another breeder
What a shame to lose that one, it's always the ones you like. Pond is looking good, can't wait to see what it looks like as the season gets going xx

Gaz have you seen those clear see through pipes that has a meshing inside “Middle” which prevents that clogging ( Just a Thought 💭) eco filtration i think 🤔 Gutting about thw koi tho , this year I’ve had to put 3 koi down with issue that i had “hopefully 🤞🏻 getting past it” 🙏🏻 couple still not looking right but eating 🤷🏻

Hi Gary, Sorry about your Fish, and a shame about the newt, haven't seen one in over 40 years. Gary was I seeing things, in the main pond 5 minutes in a fish on its side?
you wasn't mate I did not see it till I put the video together, but by the afternoon it was swimming around right as rain again, I think it was the cold drop in temp from the night before I've kept an eye on it the rest of the day and it seems fine again
